Estella's pov
We arrived at Professor Dumbledore's office. He had asked me earlier if I preferred to be sorted in private or if I wanted to do it in the Great Hall. I told him I'd much rather do it in private. He told me to sit on the stool I was currently seated on, but then he just continued talking to my mom.
It was mostly about ministry matters, and I was getting a bit impatient.
Ten minutes later, I was sorted into Slytherin and said goodbye to my mom. My brother was waiting outside and talked with Mama for a bit before also saying goodbye and starting to lead me to the common room.
"How have you been?" I asked Oliver.
He rolled his eyes. "I was made to come all the way up to Dumbledore's office on a Sunday, I might add. I could've still been sleeping if it weren't for you, just to show you the way. How do you think I am?"
I frowned and turned to look at him. Was he being serious? But he wasn't; I saw his little smirk as he stopped walking and wrapped me in his arms. "I've missed you."
"It's only been two weeks." He hummed before letting me go and continuing to walk.
We talked all the way down to the dungeons. It had only been two weeks, but it seemed we had a lot to catch up on.
"Daphne is really excited about you two being roommates," Oliver mentioned.
I gasped. "Daphne is my roommate?" I asked, my smile widening.
Oliver chuckled. "Exact same reaction," he muttered, shaking his head.
I was ecstatic; I love Daphne so much. I've known her and her sister forever. Our mothers were really good friends, though I know Daphne better than I know Astoria, who's in my brother's year.
"How's Lola been?" I asked, watching him for a reaction.
Lola was his girlfriend last year before summer. Both Mama and I were pretty shocked when he told us he had a girlfriend. I mean, he's only 13 years old. She came over to the mansion once, and she was actually really nice—not to mention gorgeous.
"We broke up," he replied casually, as if it wasn't a big deal.
I frowned. "What happened?"
He shrugged. "I just wasn't feeling it anymore, you know."
"Who are you and what have you done with my little brother? You've become such a teenage boy. It's disgusting."
"So you'd want me to stay with her and lead her on even though I don't like her anymore?" he asked, stopping in front of a wall. We'd been walking for a while now.
"That's not what I meant. You're being so casual about it and don't seem to care. You were so in love over summer," I said.
"I wasn't in love," he said, rolling his eyes and muttering "pureblood."
That must be the password, because the wall opened up and led to the Slytherin common room.
"Yes, you were! You should've seen the way you looked at her," I laughed.
"Shut up, Estelle," he said, rolling his eyes. "I was not."
I heard a high-pitched squeal, and before I got a chance to look around, I was wrapped in Daphne's arms. I hugged her back tightly as we stumbled and fell to the floor. We both laughed, but we didn't let go. My brother groaned and muttered something about girls being so dramatic.
I ignored him. I was so happy to see Daphne. Then I heard someone agreeing with my brother.
But I recognized that voice. I looked up and saw Draco grinning down at me.
