AS THE LIM GIRL entered her classroom the next day, she went through her usual routine, setting her notebook and pencil neatly on her desk. The room buzzed with the familiar voices of her classmates catching up, and she sank into her seat, ready to take on the day ahead.

Moments later, the teacher walked in, clapping her hands to get everyone's attention. "Good morning, class! Before we start, I'd like to introduce someone new. Please welcome Shuhua, who just moved here."

Sarim glanced up, surprised. At the front of the room stood a girl.

She was tall, with long, dark hair that fell straight down her back in soft waves, giving her an effortlessly cool look.
Her skin was fair, and her features were delicate, yet there was a certain strength in the way she carried herself. She wore an oversized red sweater that looked comfortable but stylish, paired with baggy jeans that gave off a relaxed, laid-back vibe.

It was clear from her choice of clothes that she didn't care much about fitting into any specific trend but still managed to look effortlessly chic. Her eyes were large and expressive, lighting up when she talked, and her smile was easy and genuine, making it clear she was friendly and approachable.

"Hi, everyone, I really hope we get along! " Shuhua greeted, her voice cheerful and warm.

"Shuhua, feel free to sit anywhere you'd like," the teacher said, gesturing toward the empty desks.

After scanning the room, Shuhua made her way to the seat beside Sarim. She slid into the chair with a smile and turned to Sarim, her eyes bright. "Hi! I'm Shuhua," she introduced herself, her energy contagious.

"Hi, I'm Sarim," she replied, her own shyness blending with curiosity. Shuhua seemed friendly, and there was something comforting about her openness.

As the lesson began, Sarim felt Shuhua's occasional glances her way. During a quiet moment, Shuhua pulled out a small notebook, scribbling something on the corner of a page before carefully ripping it off and sliding it toward Sarim.

Sarim glanced at the note, its neat, a pretty handwriting bringing a small smile to her face: "how's your day been going?"

She quickly wrote back, "pretty good.. just the usual."

Shuhua's face lit up when she read Sarim's response. She wrote again: "same here. i just moved here with my mom, so everything is still pretty new."

"oh. where did u live before?" Sarim wrote, passing the note back.

"seoul. but my mom got a new job here, so we packed up and moved." Shuhua replied.

The bell rang, and students around them began gathering their things for the next class. Seizing the moment, Sarim took a breath, feeling both nervous and excited. "Um, Shuhua... would you like to sit together at lunch?"

Shuhua's eyes lit up. "I'd love to."

As lunchtime rolled around, Sarim and Shuhua met at the entrance to the cafeteria, where they wandered through the bustling crowd and found a quiet table. After settling down with their trays, Sarim took a bite of her sandwich, glancing up as Shuhua launched into a story about her old school.

"It was a pretty big school, and the teachers were strict," Shuhua explained, rolling her eyes playfully. "But I had a couple of close friends who made it fun. We used to sneak off to the rooftop during lunch... It felt like our little secret spot above everything."

Sarim laughed, picturing it. "That sounds fun, i don't think I'd have the courage to break the rules like that, besides I don't really have any friends."
