The factory shook violently as the overload reached critical mass. Joe and Timmy could feel the walls vibrating around them, the deafening roar of machinery drowning out everything else. Sparks flew overhead, and Joe’s heart raced as he glanced at Timmy, who was wide-eyed and frozen in place.

“Timmy! We have to get out of here!” Joe shouted over the noise, grabbing Timmy by the arm.

“I’m trying!” Timmy yelled back, fumbling with the controls. “But the emergency exits are blocked! We need to find another way out!”

Joe took a deep breath, scanning the chaos around them. Captain Nova was still trying to break free from the electricity trap in the pit, but the energy was beginning to fizzle out. Joe had no idea how much longer they had before Nova figured out how to escape.

“Look!” Joe pointed toward a service door on the far side of the room. “That might lead us outside!”

Timmy nodded, determination replacing the fear in his eyes. “Let’s go!”

They sprinted through the chaos, dodging falling debris and avoiding Nova’s stray energy blasts. The factory was alive with sounds of metal creaking and electrical sparks. Each step felt like a gamble, and Joe could feel the sweat trickling down his back as adrenaline coursed through him.

Just as they reached the door, a thunderous crash echoed behind them. Captain Nova had finally broken free from the pit, his body pulsing with energy, eyes locked onto them.

“You can’t escape!” he roared, charging toward them with terrifying speed.

Joe flung open the service door, pushing Timmy through ahead of him. “Go, go, go!”

They stumbled into a narrow hallway, the walls shaking around them. Timmy glanced back, panic etched on his face. “He’s coming!”

“Keep running!” Joe shouted, glancing over his shoulder just in time to see Nova explode through the doorframe, pieces of metal and debris flying everywhere. Nova was a force of nature, unstoppable and furious.

They tore down the hallway, following it as it twisted and turned. The alarms blared louder, and Joe felt the heat rising behind them, the factory’s impending explosion breathing down their necks.

“Where does this lead?” Timmy panted, his face pale with fear.

“Just to the loading bay,” Joe replied, his mind racing. “If we can reach the main doors, we can get outside!”

The hallway opened up into a larger area filled with crates and machinery. They zigzagged between them, desperately trying to lose Nova, who was hot on their heels.

“Joe! What if we don’t make it?” Timmy shouted, fear creeping into his voice.

“We will!” Joe insisted, but doubt nagged at the back of his mind. The thought of leaving Timmy behind was unimaginable. “We just need to stick together!”

Nova’s laughter echoed through the loading bay, a dark sound that sent chills down Joe’s spine. “You’re just prolonging the inevitable! You’ll never escape me!”

Suddenly, the ground beneath them began to shake again. Joe could hear the distant rumble of the factory’s core about to explode. He felt the urgency mounting. They had to get out—now.

“Over there!” Joe pointed to a large set of double doors at the end of the loading bay, partially ajar. They dashed toward them, but just as they reached the doors, Nova appeared in front of them, blocking their escape.

“Did you really think you could just run away?” Nova growled, energy crackling around his hands. “I will end you both!”

Joe’s heart raced as he looked at Timmy. “We need to hold him off just a little longer. Can you distract him?”

Timmy nodded, his face steeling with determination. “I’ll try!”

Joe watched as Timmy stepped forward, trying to look confident. “Hey, Nova! You’re just a washed-up superhero! You think you can scare us? You’re not so tough!”

Nova’s eyes flared with rage, and he turned his attention to Timmy. “You think taunting me will save you? You have no idea who you’re dealing with!”

Joe seized the moment. “Timmy, now!”

Timmy ducked as Joe lunged toward a nearby crate, grabbing a rusted metal pipe. He swung it at Nova, but the villain merely deflected it with a wave of his hand, sending Joe tumbling backward.

“Foolish boy,” Nova said, his voice low and menacing. “You can’t stop me. I am beyond your comprehension!”

But Joe wasn’t done yet. He scrambled to his feet and grabbed another object—a canister of industrial spray foam. It was a long shot, but they were out of options.

“Timmy, keep him busy!” Joe shouted.

Timmy nodded and started throwing debris at Nova, shouting insults. Joe steadied the canister, took aim, and fired the foam toward Nova, hoping to slow him down.

The foam shot out like a geyser, hitting Nova square in the chest. To Joe’s surprise, it stuck, momentarily immobilizing him as he struggled against the expanding foam.

“Get it off me!” Nova roared, thrashing wildly.

“Now, Timmy!” Joe yelled, sprinting toward the double doors.

Timmy joined him, and together they pushed against the heavy doors, forcing them open just as the ground shook violently once more. They stumbled through the doorway, barely making it outside as the factory let out a terrifying groan.

As they stood outside, catching their breath, the factory’s core finally erupted behind them, a massive fireball lighting up the sky. The explosion sent debris flying in all directions, and Joe could feel the heat wave wash over them.

“Did we... did we do it?” Timmy gasped, eyes wide with disbelief.

Joe looked back at the factory, now a towering inferno. “I think we did. But I don’t think he’s done yet.”

Timmy shivered, his voice shaking. “What do we do now?”

Joe felt a mix of triumph and dread. “Now we prepare for what comes next. Captain Nova won’t give up that easily.”
