"So.. You want us to fake date because you think it will make Brooke jealous?" He furrowed his brows. "And you gain what from this?"
I rolled my eyes at his lack of focus. I was going to jump in with my usual wit and sarcasm, but I didn't want to give him reason to decline my offer, but mainly for his case, more like help. "You in or not, lover boy?"
He shot me a glare and I tried my best to suppress a giggle. I held out my hand waiting for his response. He looked as if he was pondering for a moment, then shook my hand in agreement. I sort of felt bad for him, I think we was more agreeing to this in hopes of winning her back. If he still wanted to be with her after she slept around with his best friend, he must really love her. He opened his mouth as if he were going to speak, but the first bell rung. His eyes widened. "I'll catch up with you later." He spoke in a rush as he grabbed his bag, sprinting off. I sighed when realization hit that I would be spending the rest of the day getting lost and trying to memorize where all my classes were.I entered through the bulky double doors in a fast pace, stopping in my tracks to admire how pretty the school was. It was definitely a change. Putting a holt to my thoughts, I was now admiring the floor, as something had knocked me over, my butt growing sore.
"No no no no no no, oh not today Satan." A small voice spoke to herself. I turned my head slightly to find an iPhone, faced down, and a frighten brunette crouched down, too afraid to pick it back up. Shaking my head, I proceeded to pick up the phone, making the screen illuminate.
"Well, you didn't crack it, but cute cat." I told her, examining her phone's lock screen, of which proceeded to vibrate in my hand. "Oh! And your "Grammykinz" wishes you a good first day, "lil big head!" I said forcing back a laugh, failing to not crack a smile, handing her the phone.
She took the phone, her face growing red. "Thanks for the update." She responded in a sarcastic tone. "But why are you sitting on the-" she cut herself off. "Shit." She murmured. "Sorry." She held out a hand, helping me back up to my feet. She looked me up and down. "Are you new here?" She inquired. "I'm Channing." She smiled.
"Imogen! And yup, made it here about a month ago."
"Do you need any help finding your classes?" She offered as redemption for knocking me over. I pulled the slip of paper from my pocket and handed her my schedule. She scanned it quickly, it also had my locker and combination written on the bottom of it.
"Oh hey! Your lockers not too far away from mine!" She paused. "And by not too far, I mean it's like 20 away, but it's basically the same thing. I honestly have no words to describe this girl. Channing ended up taking me to my first period. We had 5th period Calculus together, so we said we'd catch up then.Walking into my first period class late, I was stopped by a teacher, asking who I was.
"Oh, I'm Imogen, I'm new here, I had trouble finding my class so I -"
"I presume you have mistaken me for one of the instructors who care." She spoke nonchalantly, cutting me off. My jaw slightly dropped in astonishment. She dismissed me with her hand, motioning me to go sit down. I really didn't know how to feel about that.Between the last few periods, some people had introduced themselves to me and one of them had an older sister who knew my cousin. I had yet to be placed in a class with Justin and at that, I was slightly disappointed. It was now 5th period, so I knew at least I'd get to see the familiar face of Channing. She was bubbly, partially unfocused, but seemed like a kindhearted person, I had hoped I could leave school today saying I made at least one friend.
Walking into class, which I had surprisingly made it to early, I saw a few people chatting and Justin sitting, tapping his pencil to his desk.
Justin!
My face lit up and I walked over to the desk next to his and sat down casually, trying not to seem as if I'd grown some weird obsession over him.
A few moments later, "Excuse me miss." The unfamiliar voice laughed a little. "I, uh, think you have the wrong seat." I glanced upward to see a pretty face staring back down at me. Leaning back into the seat, looking around, I retorted with a "No, I think I got the right one." I reached up, ruffling my hand through his messy dirty blonde locks and mocked "But thanks for the concern, cutie." I winked, dismissing him with a wave, then returning my focus to getting out my notebook and I heard Justin, to my left, choking back laughter. The guys face dropped and glared at Justin, proceeding to sit behind me.
"So Imogen, this is Liam." He spoke trying to hide his smile and failing completely, which was fine because his smile is actually kind of wonderful. "Liam this is.."
"Imogen!" A familiar voice squealed. She quickly hurried over to the group, taking one of the few seats left, which was behind Justin.
"Oh hey Justin, didn't see you there. How are you and Brooke doing! Did you have a good summer together? Favorite couple of 2015." She grinned enthusiastically.
"Hilarious!" He mocked her girlish tone and fluttered his lashes with a fake giggle. The bell then rang and the teacher walked in, beginning their lesson.
