(episode 7 — assault)

AFTER REPRIMANDING PANDA for throwing Toge around on the practice field and supervising Maki and Megumi's sparring for a couple hours, Naomi felt secure enough to leave her students to their own devices for the night, giving them time to hash out their strategies for the Student Exchange Event that'll be coming up in the next month and a half.

It'll be their first year competing for all them, but considering how popular it is, the students already know what they're getting themselves into. And with how capable the first years already are, Naomi doesn't doubt that they'll do just fine competing even if they're only filling in for Hakari and Kirara since they got suspended and are barred from competing now.

The moonlight was bright even in the tint of the backseat of the car.

"Yuji will do just fine with the puppet, and Yaga won't even know it's missing before I put it back," Satoru shrugged, "he's going to need to build up his strength as soon as possible if we're gonna get him back in school for the exchange event, I really don't want him to have to wait until next year to compete with his friends."

Naomi sighed and nodded.

"I just hate the idea of the kid getting punched around, you know how I feel about that stuff," Naomi leaned her head on his shoulder, looking out his window as he did.

Sure, she could've drove, but she really didn't feel like it, and Satoru has gotten pulled over more times than she cares to admit due to his blindfold. Ijichi was supposed to be in the meeting anyhow, so it's not like they were taking advantage of him. In fact, it was definitely saving gas, and lowering their carbon footprint.

"We have some time before your appointment with the principal," Ijichi pointed out, "do you want to stop anywhere?"

"No thanks, we'll surprise him and show up early for a change," Satoru replied, he leaned his head against his window, looking out with Naomi as the scenery blurred by.

It was peaceful for all of five seconds before Satoru was straightening up in his seat, his face unreadable. Naomi straightened up and observed him. He was sensing something outside the car, she could see it.

"Stop here." Satoru said.

"Huh? Right here?" Ijichi immediately obliged and the two got out. Naomi didn't want to worry the poor assistant and she threw on a smile for him as she bent down to level her face with his window, hopefully reassuring him despite the fact that they were standing in the empty road in the middle of the night.
