Flashback (13 years old)

Aurora's POV

I let the breeze run through my blonde hair, watching the bright orange horizon upon the clear blue water, I smiled hearing the seagulls squeals upon the sky, one after another, hearing the waves crash against each other and flooding beside my feet.

I walked around silently flopping my feet around in the water as I waited for my best friend Haven.

Haven and I used has been friends since 5 years old. As soon as we met in kindergarten we clicked. We looked alike, we both had blonde hair, she had brown eyes I had blue eyes, we had a lot in common, My dad is best friends with her dad and we instantly become best friends.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of my best friend.

"Addy! Omg I missed you so much" I turned to look at my best friend as she ran towards me and crushing me into a hug.

"Um Haven I-I can't breathe" I squeaked.

"I'm so sorry I was just so happy to see you, God mom and dad was being annoying and weird on that trip to Kansas and I literally wanted to die when I was there" she huffed out after blabbing about her parents

I smiled after huffing about her parents, this isn't the first time she talked about her parents like that. Alistair and Rose Montgomery aren't just normal parents who cared about their children.

They were parents who cared about their reputations than their own children, last I heard Havens twin brother Hayes Montgomery was sent to the other side of town due to his behavioural issues few years ago. I've never met him, but Haven talks about him a lot of much she misses him and how much she hated her mother for that.

"Hey I'll be okay, maybe your mom and dad are having some issues maybe let them deal with it" I placed my hand on her shoulder rubbing my thumb against her exposed skin for extra comfort.

She huffed and nodded, avoiding eye contact turning towards the horizon wrapping her long white skinned arms around her exposed legs.

I looked at my watch its 7:45pm.
Shoot I was supposed to meet my dad at 7pm for dinner.

"Hey I'm so sorry I gotta go my dad is waiting for me for dinner and I'm 45 mins late" I laughed as I grabbed my bag pack and flats on the floor.

She smirked as she got up from the sand also grabbing her bag, "it's fine my mom might be a little worried, so I'm gonna head back, but papa Conrad is going to get angry so you better get there!" She laughed slapping against my arm

"Haven! you did not" I said in shook trying to contain my laughter as I walked backwards, then eventually turning my back on her.

"I love you Addy!" She screamed across the beach.

I stopped in my tracks turning around with a huge smile upon my face. She still stood of where our usually spot is.

"I love you too Haven" I screamed back as I turned my back around still with a huge smile upon my face.

Not realising that will be my last conversation with her before she got murdered.
