Just a pretty face

Part 13

its been a little while. thanksgiving we all drove to our parents house a couple hours away. and we celebrated christmas and new years. but buck was there for any of them even though i invited him them to all incase he wanted to.

we havent talked and im not sure why. hes been busy with his lady friend i guess? but shes left and left him here and he thinks shes gonna come back to him but she hasnt and hasnt even called either. poor buck. i heard this all from hen shes kept me in the loop because buck hasnt spoken to me im not sure if i did something or what happened. we see eachother on a daily basis  i mean we work together. we just kind of avoid any conversation? or he does.

its hard because dallas ask why he hasnt came over and i was afraid that wouldve happened. im going to have to keep him away for the both of our sakes. because if he dont get to close it wont hurt as bad when he walks away like everyone does.

this morning was one of the hottest recorded. i got out of bed and put on some shorts and a tshirt.

i walked in dallas's room and turned on her light. "goodmorning sunshine its time to get up" i say looking through her clothes and picking out her a shirt and some shorts to wear along with her sock and shoes. she sits up in bed and rubs her eyes yawning "can we get donuts for breakfast?" "of course" i smile as she gets up and starts gettng dressed and then follows me in to the bathroom where i brush her hair and let her brush her teeth.

we head to the truck and i grab her backpack as we walk out. i open the back door for her as she climbs in and i shut the door behind her and walk around to the drivers side.

i pull out of the driveway and head to the coffee shop.

"can i get a pink donut with sprinkles?" dallas ask as we get to the drive thru speaker. "i order my coffee and then her donut. "oh and a chocolate milk pretty please" dallas ask

"and a chocolate milk and also can i get a dozen of assorted donuts" i say into the speaker "who those for?" dallas ask as i pulled up to the window and handed my card to them. "im gonna take them to work" i say as i hand dallas her donut and chocolate milk. she smiles at me widely "thank you" "your welcome baby" i smile as i put the box of donuts in my passanger seat and tame a sip of my coffee as i drive off and head to drop dallas off at school

i walk into the firehouse and went up the stairs and places the donuts on the counter "ooo donuts" a guy ive never seen before says. "yea umm feel free to help yourself" i say as i open the box for him "thank you" he says as he grabs one "im eddie diaz by the way" he smiles and offers his hand "nice to meet you eddie im y/n" i take his hand and smile. he wasnt in a uniform or anything so i probbaly still had a confused look on my face "im new your actually the second person ive met beside cap" "oh well i hope you like it. were very easy to get along with. like a big family. ill see you around eddie im gonna go change" i smile as i walk off and down the stairs to the locker room to get changed into my uniform

when i finished i walked out to see hen with her bag "goodmorning" she smiles "goodmorning hen" i say as bobby walks enters the firehouse peppy and smiley which was weird "looking good sam, you make that shine tanika.outstanding haircut Martin" he says "you are cheer" hen says "way to cheery" i cross my arms "why shouldnt i be?" bobby questions. "i dont know maybe because you been like this for weeks and its starting to get on my nerves whats going on with you?" hen ask with her hands in her pocket with her bag still on her shoulder.

as hen asked buck enters "i got another DXA scan and guess who dropped another half percent" buck announces as he walks over "what?" "a DXA scan messures your body fat you can see your percentage of every part of your body" he explains "is this about that stupid calendar" "oh yea? they measure the fat in your head?" chimney ask walking over we begin talking about the stupid calander and how its for charity.
