"Johan, what are you doing here?" Minho asked, trying to keep his voice steady as he blocked the doorway to Chan's office. He felt a surge of protectiveness wash over him, not just for Chan but for himself as well.
Johan smirked, his confidence radiating off him in waves. "I'm here to see my husband," he replied casually, as if they were still in a loving relationship rather than embroiled in a bitter divorce. "Isn't that obvious?"
"Your husband is in a meeting," Minho shot back, refusing to back down. He could feel the tension in the air thickening as Johan's presence filled the room. "You need to leave."
Johan stepped closer, his expression a mix of amusement and condescension. "And what are you going to do about it? You're just his little assistant, aren't you? You have no authority here."
Minho squared his shoulders, standing firm. "I may be his assistant, but I won't let you walk all over him. You've done enough damage already."
Johan laughed, a cold sound that made Minho's skin crawl. "Please, spare me the righteous indignation. Chan needs to wake up. He's been delusional about our marriage for too long, thinking he can just throw me aside because I wanted something more out of life."
"More out of life? You mean your ego?" Minho shot back, his heart racing as he fought to keep his composure. "You cheated on him and you expect him to take you back?"
"Maybe if he understood how things really work in this world, he wouldn't be so naïve," Johan said, crossing his arms over his chest. "I came here to talk to him, so step aside."
Minho shook his head, refusing to budge uncaring of the eyes of the other employees watching. "No. You don't get to come in here and act like you own the place. You're the one who made this mess, and I won't let you make things worse for Chan."
At that moment, the door to Chan's office opened, and Chan stepped out, his expression shifting from confusion to irritation as he took in the scene. "What's going on here?"
"Your assistant is being a bit dramatic," Johan replied, feigning innocence as he cast a glance at Minho. "I was just trying to talk to you."
"I don't want to talk to you," Chan said firmly, his voice steady despite the tension in the room. "You shouldn't have come here, Johan. We're not in a relationship anymore."
"Why not? I'm still your husband," Johan said, his tone taking on a desperate edge. "I have every right to speak to you."
"You lost that right the moment you decided to betray my trust," Chan retorted, his eyes flashing with anger. "You need to leave, Johan. Now."
Johan's gaze shifted back to Minho, a smirk creeping onto his face. "You think you're protecting him? You're just a distraction for him, nothing more. Once I'm out of the picture, he'll realize he made a mistake."
"Get out!" Chan's voice cut through the tension like a knife, and for a moment, Minho could see the determination in his eyes.
Johan's expression soured, but he held up his hands in mock surrender. "Fine, I'll go. But this isn't over. You'll regret pushing me away, Chan."
As Johan turned to leave, Minho felt a wave of relief wash over him, but it was quickly replaced by a sense of foreboding. He knew Johan wasn't done causing trouble, and the last thing he wanted was for Chan to suffer further because of him.
"Are you okay?" Minho asked, stepping closer to Chan, who looked visibly shaken.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Chan said, though his voice lacked conviction. "I just... I didn't expect him to show up here like that."
