Twenty Three

Chan stirred awake once more, and smiled down at the peaceful figure of Minho, whose soft breaths were a soothing melody against the quiet of the morning. The omega was nestled comfortably against his chest, a contented smile gracing his lips even in sleep. Careful not to disturb him, Chan reached for his phone on the nightstand. He unlocked it, and his heart raced as he saw several messages from his attorney. His eyes widened in disbelief as he read the latest one: Johan is accepting the settlement offer. We can go to the office today to sign the divorce agreement.

A wave of relief washed over him, and he felt a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. This was the news he had been waiting for, the final step towards freedom from the tumultuous past that had weighed so heavily on him. Chan glanced down at Minho again, feeling a surge of gratitude for the omega who had brought light and warmth into his life amidst the chaos. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on Minho's forehead, whispering, "We did it, Min. Today is the day." Savoring the moment before he began to plan for the day ahead, both excited and nervous about what lay beyond the signing of those papers.

"Channie?" A soft voice called out, and Chan smirked as he felt Minho stir beside him, blinking sleepily up at him.

"Good morning, Min. I've got good news," he said, sitting up fully and brushing a hand through Minho's tousled hair.

Minho's eyes widened with curiosity, a hint of excitement in his sleepy expression. "What is it?"

"Johan is accepting the offer," Chan said, the weight of the words filling the air with an electrifying energy. "We can meet today to sign the divorce agreement."

Minho's eyes sparkled with joy as the realization sunk in. "Really? That's amazing!" He sat up, the covers slipping down to reveal his bare shoulders, and Chan couldn't help but admire the sight.

"I know it's still a big step, but it means we can finally move on," Chan continued, his heart racing. "No more complications, no more worries about Johan."

Minho leaned in closer, his expression turning serious. "Are you okay, though? I know this has been hard on you."

"I will be," Chan replied softly, brushing his thumb along Minho's cheek. "Especially now that I have you by my side. I've waited so long for this."

Minho beamed, a soft blush creeping across his cheeks. "Then let's celebrate after you sign the papers. I want to make this day special for you."

"Only if you let me spoil you in return," Chan grinned, his heart swelling with affection. "Now, how about I make us some breakfast first?"

Breakfast was short but full of love, both Chan and Minho savoring the moment as they prepared for the day ahead. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and anticipation; they were both eager to be on the other side of this dragged-out divorce.

Chan got ready in record time, showering and slipping into a tan suit that hugged his frame perfectly, emphasizing his broad shoulders and trim waist. Minho couldn't help but admire him as he stood in the doorway, his heart racing a little at the sight.

"You know I'm half tempted to pull you back to bed," Minho mumbled against Chan's lips in what was supposed to be a short goodbye kiss but quickly morphed into a longer, more heated one.

Chan smirked, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "I'm half tempted to let you."

Chuckling, the omega smiled and cradled Chan's face in both hands, his expression turning earnest. "If it was anything else, I would, but I don't want to cause any further delay. Just remember, no matter what happens today, I love you. Okay, Chan?"
