4 Years later

Matthew looked at his watch irritated. He had ordered his food 30 minutes ago and it still wasn't out. If it wasn't Alfred's favorite burger place he would have demanded a refund and gone somewhere else.

"Number 56!" The server called out.

"Finally." Matthew muttered snatching the bag from the counter.

The server didn't even flinch. She was used to this and didn't blame him. The cooks always took their time and most people didn't have 30 minutes to wait for their food. Though a thank you would be nice.

Matthew put $5 in the empty tip jar before he walked out. He may be in a bad mood now but it wasn't the servers fault.

She smiled. Ok a tip was just as good as a thank you.

Matthew checked his phone. No notifications from Alfred. Meaning the Alpha was either sleeping or overworking himself again.

Pulling his hoodie over his head he walked briskly to headquarters. It was unusually cold for early September. Though he didn't mind. It gave him an excuse to wear his favorite hoodie.

On the way however there was a sudden crash from a nearby bank. He sighed. The one time he didn't pack his uniform.

Putting the food in his backpack he ran towards the commotion. He didn't have his uniform but he could at least try to help get people to safety.

Just as the scene came into view he knew who it was that was attacking.

He glared. It was Ivan Braginsky, the son of the head boss of the Russia mafia. This wasn't good.

Ivan walked out with his usual creepy smile. But something in his eyes looked bored. As if this was a chore rather than a robbery.

He pulled out a metal pipe, ready to swing it if anyone even dared to try and challenge him. Of course Matthew wasn't that stupid. Ivan was someone to fear. Or be wary of if you were a superhero like himself.

Matthew was about to back away when he heard a child crying. Looking behind Ivan he saw a small boy crying over his motionless father. Dead or alive, he couldn't tell. However, if there was a chance to save him he would.

So taking a deep breath Matthew ran towards Ivan.

Seeing the man approach him rapidly he rised his pipe, ready to swing. Another fool redy to challenge him. To his surprise as soon as he got close the man slid by him.

He turned around with wide eyes expecting an attack from behind instead. But that wasn't it either.

He was shocked to see that the man wasn't attacking him but rather helping out someone in need.

'Interesting.' He thought not moving from his position.

Matthew checked his vitals and relaxed. He was alive.

"I-is my D-Daddy going to b-be ok?" The boy asked between hiccups.

"He'll be fine. Just unconscious. Once he's taken to the hospital they'll make him feel all better." He said giving the child a reassuring smile.

The boy nodded sniffling. He then shook in fear as he realized that Ivan was staring at him.

Seeing this Matthew stood in front of him while growling and letting out a protective scent.

This intrigued Ivan. The man was an Omega. A cute one.

"You dare growl at me?"

Matthew nodded his demeanor not wavering. "I do. You can hurt me all you want but I won't let you hurt this child and his Father. Now either back off or fight me."
