"Okay stay here" I told Kayla as she sat down on our bed "okie dokie" she grinned. I know it's not much but I can't marry her yet so a promise ring is the way to go.
"Okay I know you've obviously probably gotten much better because your life stupid rich but I really wanted to give you something but you have like everything! And because of our age there's something I can't do but I will do it so this was the alternative and I don't want you to be mad at-"
"Billie! Just show me what it is" she laughed. Watching her laugh is like a rainbow coming out after a storm. It makes everyone's day better "okay" I whispered and pulled out the red ring box
"I got you a promise ring, I know it's not like 24k gold but I spent a whole picking this out and I just thought it would look great on you" Kayla's eyes welled with tears and she stared down at the ring "Billie. I love this so much! I love you so much! It's beautiful. I've never gotten such a beautiful ring before" that was a lie but I love her for trying "I'm glad you like it"

"Baby I love it!" Kayla said after an hour of us being silent and comfortable in bed "I've gotta get you something now, you like chunky rings right?" Kayla grabbed her phone and already had fifty different jewellers on speed dial "baby you don't have to get me anything just don't leave me" if you couldn't tell I have slight attachment issues "Billie please stop saying that because it's never gonna happen, unless like... no it's just never ever everrr gonna happen"

"Momma! Look what Billie got me!" Kayla squealed as she saw her mother and father walk through the door "oh wow! That is beautiful, you guys married already?" She giggled "no it's just a promise ring but isn't it just so arghhhh it's amazing" Kayla's family makes me giggle because her parents were born in the south side of Texas and still have that accent so does her two older brothers seeing as they were born there but it fades down once you get to kayla but when she gets excited it shows a lot and it's the funniest thing I've ever heard
Kayla reminds me a lot of princess Lottie from princess and the frog
"Daddy look at it!" She shoved her hand in his face "yes honey it's beautiful" he said slowly taking her hand away from his face "Billie that was very thoughtful of you thank you" her mom said from the kitchen "it's no problem really" I said from the couch.
