Chapter 2: The Promise of Forever
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────

Harin's POV

The auditorium was filled with the sound of applause, the murmur of families and friends celebrating their loved ones, and the occasional burst of a cheer or whistle. I stood in line, waiting for my name to be called, feeling the anticipation and excitement bubble up inside me. Today was the day I had been working towards for years "My Graduation Day."

As my name echoed through the speakers—Park Harin—I felt a swell of pride wash over me. My feet carried me across the stage, and with a firm handshake from the dean, I took hold of my diploma. It was surreal. The culmination of sleepless nights, endless assignments, and countless memories. But more than that, it was a celebration of the life I had built here, the relationships I had formed, and the love I had found.

Scanning the crowd, I easily spotted Taehyung and Jimin, standing front and center, clapping and cheering for me. Taehyung had graduated last year, and I still remembered how I’d felt watching him in this very spot, beaming with pride. Now, here I was, taking my own steps into the future.

As soon as the ceremony ended, I made my way through the sea of students and families, looking for them. Taehyung was the first to spot me. His face lit up, and before I could say anything, he pulled me into a tight hug.

“You did it, Harin,” he whispered into my ear, his voice filled with pride.

I smiled against his chest, feeling his familiar warmth surround me. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”

He pulled back, looking into my eyes with that soft, affectionate gaze he always had for me. “Yes, you could have. You’re amazing.”

Before I could respond, Jimin appeared beside us, grinning from ear to ear. He held up a small bouquet of flowers, teasingly shoving them toward me. “You’ve finally caught up to us, sis! Congratulations!”

I laughed and took the flowers, pulling him into a hug. “Thanks, oppa. I’m so glad you’re here.”

Jimin had graduated alongside Taehyung last year, and not long after, he had gotten a job offer overseas. It was strange not having him around all the time, but he had flown back just for my graduation, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

“Like I’d miss this,” Jimin said, giving me an affectionate nudge. “I had to come see my little sister turn into a full-fledged adult.”

“You’re still my annoying brother, though,” I teased, earning a laugh from both of them.

We spent a few more minutes taking photos and talking with classmates before deciding to head out for dinner. Taehyung had reserved a table at a cozy restaurant downtown, and we were meeting Jisoo, one of my closest friends, there.

The restaurant was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and a relaxed atmosphere. Jisoo greeted me with a big hug the moment we arrived, congratulating me again on my graduation.

“I can’t believe you’re done with school! We’re going to have so much more time to hang out now,” Jisoo said as we settled into our seats.

“I know, right?” I smiled, feeling the weight of stress from exams and deadlines finally lift from my shoulders. “It feels surreal.”

“Cheers to Harin!” Jisoo exclaimed, raising her glass. Everyone followed suit, clinking glasses and toasting to the next chapter of my life.

Taehyung, sitting beside me, caught my eye and smiled, his hand gently resting on my knee under the table. “To Harin, and to all the amazing things you’re going to accomplish,” he added, his voice soft but full of sincerity.
