Chapter 26

Akutagawa takes all his money, a few clothes and leaves the house as quickly as possible. He knows he doesn't have more than 4 hours befroe the weretiger realizes that he's gone, so he needs to act very fast.

He takes the bus and drives into a place that is deserted, repeating the steps he did before but this time with a hood over his head so no one would be able to recongize him.

This time, he decides to go even further than before and use only the fastest way of transport.

It's still the middle of the night and he manages to sneak around without many people noticing him.

Unfortunately, that also means he doesn't notice if someone is following him.

First, he takes a bus. Then a taxi, another bus and ultimately, he takes a night ship. He doesn't pay for the ticket, just hides in the middle of containers. Just when the boat is about to leave the port, he notices a familiar figure. Someone that looks a lot like Gin.

Without thinking much, he leaves the ship and follows the black haired woman, hope, no matter how stupid, controlling his entire body.

What if Gin's alive after all? He knows Chuuya told him she died, but... What if it actually wasn't her and she managed to escape and then she was forced to stay hidden?

He hears the ship leave and technically, he could still jump on it but he doesn't. He follows the woman into a back alley, making sure she doesn't notice him.

He doesn't care that the woman keeps walking into the most suspicious places, into where people get killed on a daily basis. He doesn't care that maybe, just maybe, he's walking straight into a trap.

He hasn't seen Gin for a long time already. She was his only family, only relative. Not anymore.

If there was even a fraction of a chance that she might be alive... Akutagawa would become the happiest person in the world.

"Excuse me-„ He finally says and grabs the woman's shoulder. Unfortunately, when she turns around, he immediately lets go.

It's not Gin. Just a... very similar person.

The eyes are almost the same, the hair too... They could be sisters if Akutagawa didn't know better.

That's when it clicks.

This woman is too similar to Gin.

Before he can run away, someone hits him in the head. Akutagawa falls to the ground and feels inexplicable pain in his head.

"My dear... I told you there would be consequences" The weretiger whisper to him. Akutagawa sees the coin and notices that the woman was probably under the coin's manipulation this entire time.

"No... No, no, let me- let me go" Akutagawa struggles to breathe and tries to crawl away from the weretiger. Atsushi watches him for a few seconds and needs to simply walk to catch up to him. He grabs his hair and holds him up.

"Don't think you even have a chance. My dear, I have a new promise for you" He says and grabs AKutagawa's arm. He starts pulling him towards his car and the diablo's starting to feel the effects of the head injury.

The blood falling from him leaves a big trail behind and Akuatgawa can tell he's losing a lot of blood. He might die if he doesn't get any medical help.

Once he gets thrown into the backseat of the car, Atsushi pours something into his mouth. Akutagawa immediately gets sleepy. However, he still hears Atsushi's last sentence. His new fate.

"I promise you, my dear, you're never going to see the sun ever again."
