Jiyoon's heart raced as she stood before her teammates, a nervous smile plastered on her face. This time, she was determined to take Meera's advice and practice her confession in front of the whole team. After all, everyone already knew about her feelings for Varisha, and they were more than ready to support her.
"Okay, team!" Jiyoon clapped her hands, commanding their attention. "I need your help with something important."
"Is it about your secret crush?" one of her teammates, Hana, teased, winking playfully.
Jiyoon rolled her eyes, unable to suppress a smile. "Yes, it's about Varisha. I need to practice confessing to her."
The atmosphere shifted instantly, and her teammates leaned in closer, excitement sparkling in their eyes. "Finally!" Meera exclaimed, bouncing on her toes. "You're actually going to confess? This is going to be epic!"
Jiyoon felt a wave of support wash over her, but her nerves still bubbled beneath the surface. "I just don't want to mess it up," she admitted, her voice a bit shaky.
"Nah, you got this!" said Minji, another teammate, as she threw an arm around Jiyoon's shoulder. "We're all here for you. Just imagine we're Varisha, okay? No pressure!"
With her teammates cheering her on, Jiyoon took a deep breath and squared her shoulders. "Alright, here goes nothing." She glanced at her teammates, then raised her voice, trying to channel her confidence. "Varisha! I have something to tell you!"
Her teammates immediately jumped into the role. Meera dramatically placed a hand on her chest, feigning shock. "What is it? Is it that you want to be more than friends?"
The rest of the team burst into laughter, and Jiyoon couldn't help but chuckle as well. "Exactly!" she said, getting into it. "I want to tell you that I really—"
"Love her!" another teammate shouted, and they all joined in, chanting, "Love her! Love her!"
Jiyoon laughed, the nervous tension in her body slowly melting away. The boys from the rival basketball team, who had been practicing nearby, overheard the commotion and came over, curious.
"What's going on?" one of the guys asked, a smirk on his face. "Is someone confessing?"
"Jiyoon is going to confess her love to Varisha!" Meera announced proudly, pointing at Jiyoon.
The boys cheered, their playful banter echoing around the gym. "You got this, Jiyoon!" one of them shouted. "We're rooting for you!"
Encouraged by their support, Jiyoon raised her chin, feeling a surge of confidence. "Okay, okay. Let's try this again." She took a deep breath and tried to picture Varisha's face in front of her, the way her dark hair framed her sharp features, the cool demeanor that always drew Jiyoon in.
"Varisha!" she called out again, and this time her voice was steadier. "I want you to know that you mean so much to me. I care about you more than just a friend, and—"
"Whoa, wait!" Meera interrupted, laughing. "You've gotta do it like you mean it! This is your moment. Let's see some passion!"
Jiyoon bit her lip, her heart racing. "Right. Passion." She glanced around at her teammates, feeling the weight of their anticipation. "Alright, here we go!"
"Do it like you're in a rom-com!" one of the boys chimed in, and everyone began to cheer her on again.
"Varisha!" Jiyoon said, throwing her arms wide, attempting to imitate a dramatic confession. "I can't hide my feelings anymore! You're the one I want!"
Her teammates erupted in applause, some whistling, while others clapped her on the back. The laughter and excitement filled the gym, and for a moment, Jiyoon felt as if she could truly do this.
