The accident

*Yvette POV*

We've been testing the M.A.R.C.I Hardware for quite some time now, but... Ever since I met Azura, Sapphyria's twin sister, I've had this bad feeling... Plus, I've seen her with M.A.R.C.I, and I dislike it. I told Sapphyria to keep her sister away from the computer, but every time I brought it up, Sapphyria would brush me off. It's like she's lost in this mysterious background, for which I can not find her. But it wasn't until after the... "Accident" that she changed...

(The day of the accident)

"Are you sure it's ready to test on other people?" Sapphyria looked concerned.
"Yes. Plus, if we don't submit something soon... The boss will surely fire us." I sighed.
"Yes, but we can find another company to work for. How do you think I got here?" She smiled, but I still thought M.A.R.C.I was ready to test on real people now. I walked towards my computer and gave M.A.R.C.I a command.
"M.A.R.C.I, please test yourself for any bugs. We don't want anything to go wrong." I typed and inputted a code that would help her look for bugs.
"Scanning for bugs and errors."
It took her a little bit, but the results came back negative. She was clear to inject. I got Zoe to get ready, and we fired it up.
"The test seems to be going good so far..." Sapphyria noted down. But it wasn't until two minutes later that something was happening. Something was shutting down, and before I knew it, Sapphyria protected me by covering herself on top of me, and that's when an explosion happened.
Before I fell unconscious, I saw Azura walking away with something. But before she left... I saw her sinister smile, she said something to me but all I could hear was the ringing from the explosion. Then... Darkness clouded my vision.

It wasn't until two hours later that I woke up. I was in the medical part of CyberNexus, I looked around to find that only myself was here.
"Oh! Good, you're awake." One of the doctors noticed me.
"My daughter... Where's my..?" I then coughed as the pain in my chest was throbbing. The doctor came over to adjust my pillows and said, "Your daughter is in stable condition. She's ok, but... Dr. Sapphyria Winters is in critical condition and is in a deep coma."
As soon as I heard the words "coma," I broke down in tears.
It was my fault... Ever since I started this project over five months ago, my assistants have been disappearing... including my eldest son, Liam.

After I was back on my feet, I had gotten news that the CEO of CyberNexus passed away from a car accident. The board members wanted me to fill in since I knew the boss more than anybody. He had no family, no kids of his own. But when I first started working at CyberNexus, I treated him more than just a person who bossed me around. So that's how I got the position of CEO. But... I still wonder...
Will I ever be the same person as I was before?

It wasn't until later in the year that a girl with purple hair came into my office that everything had changed...
