Chapter 7

Titan went to his den to find Raven silently crying in the corner. Not caring or regarding her feelings, he approached her and then bit down on her back, basically dragging her outside. Although it caused her much pain, she was used to this abuse when it came to her brother. She was dragged straight in front of Eris, who was staring down at her as though she were her next victim.
"Eris! My Luna. How can I assist you today?"
"Jist follow me, and you'll see what happens to those who dare to underestimate me."
Soon, Raven began to tremble as she walked behind Eris, which brought an evil grin upon Titan's face. Finally, he'd be rid of her. Arriving at the same meeting place, Titan howls and waits for a response. When the other howl responds back, they meet in the middle. This time, instead of keeping distance away from one another, they greeted each other in a semi-friendly formal greeting. By they, I mean Desmond and Eris. Eris had not seen Desmond since he decided to stay at High Ridge Pack to be a spy rather than be with her and his daughter Raven. Desmond remained still and stood proud as Eris rubbed her scent all over him, looked him up and down, and then she licked him on the cheek; which surprised Raven and annoyed Titan.
"My love, it has been many moons."
"Indeed. I have a new task that involves someone who I feel would pique your interest."
"If you're referring to your dog, I have no interest in him."
Titan runs forward with rage.
"Eris, please let me rip out his tongue!"
"That's enough, Claude. No, I am not referring to him. I'm referring to... Her. Raven! Front and center!"
Desmond looked astonished as Raven cautiously made her way out of the shadows and onto the field.
"My Luna."
"Raven, do you know know who this wolf is?"
Raven looked Desmond up and down.
"No."
Eris then looked to Desmond and Desmond to Eris. She nodded and ushered him forward to Raven.
"Greetings, Raven. My name is Desmond, and I am your father."
Raven looked confused and shocked; then she asked the most obvious question.
"If you're my father and Claude is my brother, then..."
"Ugh, finally, I can come clean! I'm not your actual brother. I have no relations to you at all! Thank the moon goddess!"
"But then, who is my mother?"
Eris took a calming, deep breath.
"I am."
Raven's whole world shattered. Who was she?! Why was Eris telling her this now?! Was she going to die?! Was Titan going to kill her?! Nothing makes sense!
"I don't understand anything of what you just said!"
"Raven, walk with me."
As the two walk towards the forest, Eris stops in her tracks.
"Oh and Desmond? Try not to murder Claude just yet."
As Desmond nodded, Eris and Raven continued their conversation in the dark forest.
"Raven, being a leader means putting your feelings aside for the greater good. The same reason goes for being a parent. Your father and I had to do what we did, so this new plan of mine could work out. So? Are you willing to go through with it?
"I don't know... But I now see and understand your reasoning for raising me the way you did."

Look at you, look at me, you don't know who to be, daughter.
Was I wrong? Was I right? Leaving my mate in the night, daughter?
I'll tell you what to do...

I was once like you, my child, slightly insecure.
Argued with my parents, too, thought I was mature.
But I put my heart aside, and I used my head.
Now I think it's time what you learn what dear old mother says...

In just a week or two, the plan will take place.

They came back and found Desmond's large paw with claws out on Titan's face; both growling and snarling at one another.
"Desmond, remove yourself and regain control. Claude, pick yourself up and act your age. Raven now understands her place in our 'family dynamics'; so she will go with you to High Ridge Pack along with Claude."
Claude was in shock after hearing this news.
"My Luna! What are you thinking?! They'll recognize me right away! What haven't you told me?"
"Be silent, Claude. Everything that I know Desmond now knows. Now, no one will suspect a thing... Right, my love?"
"Affirmative."
"Good. Now get going before the sun rises."
Desmond was leading Raven and Titan back to High Ridge while Eris was traveling back to her territory. Then, just before Titan was out of ear shot, Eris said a simple statement; one he would never hear again.
"Oh Claude? Thanks for being there for me. I only wish you could've stayed to see my victory. Tell Axel I'm coming for him next."
Back at High Ridge Pack, everyone was told to meet at Council Rock for an emergency meeting. Not even Axel or Aruska knew what was going on.
"Sunny? What's going on?"
"Your father has declared an emergency meeting. Apparently, Desmond found something while on his daily scouting of the territory."
"What do you think it is, Axel?"
"Let's go and find out. Race you there!"
"You're on!"
They both ran to Council Rock, but the moment that Axel got there, his breath was taken away; and not the good kind. For he smelled two familiar scents that he wished he would never smell for a long time. But before he could utter a word, syllable, or phrase, the meeting started.
"Everyone quiet! Desmond, why have you called this emergency meeting?"
"Well, my Alpha, as you know, when I was just a young beta, my pup was stolen away, and my mate was killed by rogues. I thought they had killed my pup, too... Until I found... Them."
Raven walked out from behind Desmond, cowering in fear; which Axel knew was unusual since he's never ever seen her scared. Then another wolf emerged after; his face filled with hate, scars, and vengeance. This was Claude, aka Titan.
"Alpha Jackson, I'd like to introduce my daughter... Raven. As for this scar-faced mutt, he was one of the rogues that held her prisoner."
Both Titan and Axel burst out their shocked answers aloud.
"WHAT?!"
Then, when Titan saw Axel, he looked like he was ready for a fight.
"Yes, I remember when he had joined the rogues and went to side with Eris. It was a shame, really. Derek thought of him like a brother."
Just hearing that name made Titan's blood boil.
"He was the traitor. He betrayed his sister! All she wanted was to be Head Alpha! But no! He wouldn't even let her go that far!"
Axel couldn't believe this. Was Eris his aunt?! No wonder both Eris and Titan had a thirst for vengeance again, his father.
"My father was a hero! He was a true Head Alpha!"
"Silence!"
"You little runt! I should've killed you long ago! I should've gone against Eris and just finished the job!"
"Then I guess you were both weak if you couldn't have finished the job!"
"GROWL! RAHHH!"
Titan ran at Axel, and they fought with Titan pinning down Axel, causing him severe injuries. Aruska ran in the fight. She had to do something, anything! She couldn't let Axel die! But when she tried to intervene, Titan knocked her back so hard she hit her head on a rock.
"Aruska!!! Desmond! Seperate them immediately!"
Desmond did as he was told to... With a little exception of his own. Without anyone noticing Desmond pulled back on Titan's throat, making it seem like what happened next was Axel's fault.
"Enough! Axel, look what you have done."
"Huh?"
Axel looked down and saw that Titan's throat had been chewed out. But Axel didn't do that. So, who did? He smelled more of Titan's blood. It was coming from Desmond? He did this? Axel didn't understand why he wanted Titan's death to be his fault. What was the play here. But before Titan's body was taken away, he said he had some final words he'd like to say to Axel. Axel walked over and bent down to hear Titan sputter his last words.
"She's coming, runt... You're next on her list. No doubt... She'll be waiting where everything started..."
"Well, if she does, I'll be ready."
Axel turned to walk away; but what Titan said next shocked him.
"You're a good kid, Axel. Your parents would be proud..."
Then, just like that, he was gone. The wolf who killed his sister, betrayed his father, wanted to kill him. It was all over...
Or was it?
