On a bright sunny day at the Riverstone Pack, Alpha Darek and Luna Willow smiled as they watched their kids playing happily with each other and their friends. That is until Alpha Darek smelled something on the wind; something unknown and dangerous.
"Darek, what is it?"
"She's coming. We must prepare for war. Get Mara and Aries to a safe place while I gather the boys and the rest of the pack."
Alpha Darek shifted, becoming a huge brown wolf with brown eyes, white on his paws and snout, and after giving a howl to signal to the pack that danger is near, everyone else shifted as well. It was then that out of the shadows they came. Wolves with scars and their leader was a white wolf with black paws and black on the tips of her ears, claw marks on her snout, and violet eyes. This was the leader of the rogues known as Eris. The wolves of Riverstone gathered behind their leader growling and baring their teeth at the rival pack.
"Long time no see, brother!"
"I am not your brother. You made it clear that you never wanted any part of becoming a part of a pack."
"You're right, I don't want to be a part of a pack, I'd rather rule it all!"
"You know to do that you'd have to be Head Alpha. Which is extremely unlikely, especially after what you did."
"Yes! Head Alpha is where I want to be. But unfortunately, there are certain obstacles that are in my way. A little birdie told me your next in position to be Head Alpha, and how do you get what you want in life?... You take it. Aaaaaaaawwwwwoooo!!!"
Everyone was fighting, blood everywhere as throats were getting ripped out slash marks on each opponent body. Meanwhile, Willow was leading her daughter and carrying her son to a den that acted as a safe haven if they were ever in danger.
"We'll be safe here until Daddy or your brothers comes for us. Just be as quiet as possible."
Back at the fight, it was down to Eris and Darek as her pack watched her every move, knowing she was on the verge of winning, while there was no one left in his pack. They were all dead, including his sons. He himself was barely hanging on. There were gashes everywhere, including bite marks from Eris and other wolves. At the safety cave, Willow starts to get worried for her mate and decides to make a bold move.
"Mara, look after Aries, I'm going back to help the others."
"Yes, mom."
They touched each other's foreheads, and then Willow smiled after giving each of her children a kiss on their heads. Then, shifting, she runs to battle.
"Accept your fate, Derek! You can't win this battle alone!"
"I know that. That's why I've got her to lean on."
Willow surprised attacked Eris and caught the rogues off guard, giving Darek the perfect opportunity to strike back. Back at the den...
"Play fight! Play fight!"
"Shh! No, Aries, they aren't playing. Our pack is fighting to protect us and our home. Just as dad always says: "A pack is stronger together when we fight as one."
"Daddy! Mommy! Aaaaaaaawwwwwoooo! Hahaha!"
Seeing that her little brother wouldn't be quiet, Mara was getting frustrated and began to growl at him angrily.
"Shh! Aries, no more!"
He began to whimper as tears slowly filled his eyes.
"I'm sorry, Aries. Here, I'll sing you one of mom's lullabies to comfort both of us."Where the North wind meets the sea there's a crystal cave full of memories sleep my brother safe and sound for in my words all is found.

Where the North wind meets the sea, there's a crystal cave full of memories. Sleep my brother safe and sound; when you are lost, you will be found. As Aries lay sleeping on her lap, she looked out towards where her mother ran off to and felt worried. She knew deep down that something bad was about to happen. She took her brother off her lap and laid him down on a bed of leaves while she ran to go help her parents. Darek and Willow thought they were winning until Mara came to help. "Mara?! What are you doing here?! Go back to keep your brother safe!"
Eris then pins down Darek, and everyone freezes.
"My my Darek, you have been a busy boy; what with raising all these children. Too bad none of you will survive after today."
Eris smiled as she tore out Darek's throat. "Daddy!"
"Darek!"
"Mara take your brother and find somewhere safe, now!"
Mara ran back to the den as it came down to Willow and Eris. The last thing Mara heard before arriving at the den was the howling of her mother.
"Aries? Come on, buddy, we have to go." Aries slowly stumbled out of the den, smiling. But his smile soon turned into confusion when he saw blood running from his sister's throat. It was the wolf known as Titan, Eris' second in command (Titan was just what other wolves called him in battle; but in his pack or sometimes by Eris he was also known as Claude). He had followed Mara to the den to kill the last remaining two of Darek's children. Then shifting he snuck up behind her and ripped out her throat. Titan then grabbed Aries by his neck and was about to end him too; but Aries bit down so hard on his arm that Titan dropped Aries and he ran away until he bumped into someone. It was Eris. Seeing another female made Aries less scared, so he started hugging her leg.
"What do we have here?"
"My Luna! That pup is a ferocious brat! He bit my arm after I intended to eliminate him!"
Eris shifted back and looked down at Aries. "Hmm, so you were bested by a child?"
"Yes, my Luna."
Aries smiled at Eris with arms spread wide. "My Luna, he is the last son of Alpha Darek, we must kill him!"
Eris bent down to pick up Aries.
"I have a better idea. He is strong. If I train him right, he will be a great pawn in my game plan of me becoming Head Alpha. I will adopt him."
Eris turned to her pack of Rogues and announced her triumph.
"My fellow mutts, today we have moved one step closer to having all the power we could ever want! Starting with the adoption of my new son! Aaaaaaaawwwwwoooo!"
The others howled in unison, even Titan who still had doubts about letting Aries into their pack. Walking back Eris started to act more motherly towards Aries making him fall asleep. But before closing his eyes he looked up at Eris.
"Momma?"
"That's right little one. Momma is right here and will continue to be so long as you do as your told. Now sleep my little rebel. Sleep to my lullaby.Hush child, the darkness will rise from the deep and carry you down into sleep

Guileless son, each day you'll grow older each moment I'll be watching my vengeance unfold, the child of my body the flesh of my bone had died in returning the birthright he stole. Loyalty, loyalty, loyalty only to me. Loyalty, loyalty, loyalty only to me.After the song, Aries was sound asleep in her arms just as Titan came up beside her. "Eris, do you seriously plan on keeping this runt alive? What if he finds out what happened and who his real family is?"
She smiled while looking down at Aries and stroking his hair.
"That will never happen because no one in the pack will speak about today. If they do they will be dealt with. Permanently."
"What about his name? Derek was a well known werewolf. Everyone pretty much knew his wife and children."
"Hmm, you're right Titan. So how about this; from hence forth he shall be known as Axel."
"Very well, my Luna. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to tend to my brat of a sister. See if she trained hard while I was away. Goodnight."
Eris went high on a hill that overlooked the land she had claimed known as the wastelands. Where rogues of all ages came and served only her; either because they had no choice, they were scared, or they were rogues before. She went inside her personal den to lay her new son, now known as Axel, on a bed of soft moss and leaves.
"Soon everything I have worked up to will be mine; and no one will ever stand in my way."
