They don't need to die, but they need to be stopped. Your mind goes through a variety of methods that can be employed to that end, however grim they are. There isn't enough time to be careful. Some may end up with severe injuries.

I'd love to intervene, but I can't risk my secret identity. I pretend to be one of the enraged and bide my time. [+Intellect]
I look for the odd person out: the one who might be controlling the others. [+Awareness]
I'll do my best to take down as many of those people as I can. I don't care if they get hurt. [+Strength]
I try to look for a safe way out. I don't want to be connected to this mess. [+Awareness]
