Morning at the Kim Household

Seokjin was busy making breakfast in the kitchen for his husband and children when he suddenly felt arms wrap around his waist. To his delight, it wasn’t his husband but his second favorite person in the world after Jungkook.

“Good morning, my beautiful appa!” Soobin chimed in his cute voice.

Seokjin chuckled and turned to meet his son’s gaze, leaning down to peck his cheek. “Good morning, my baby! How did you sleep?”

“Good! You know, I dreamed about chocolate land!” Soobin exclaimed, his eyes wide with excitement.

Seokjin smiled sweetly at him. “Wow! Appa wants to hear all about it, but first, my binnie will have breakfast, okay?”

Soobin responded with his trademark bunny smile. “Okay, appa!” He dashed over to his chair at the dining table, positioning himself so he could see his father clearly. Soobin always liked to be close to Seokjin; if given the choice, he would have insisted on being homeschooled for two main reasons: more time with his appa and his own introverted nature. After all, he had only one friend—his cousin, whom he had known since birth.

Seokjin placed a plate of chocolate pancakes in front of Soobin before taking a seat next to him. Soobin wasted no time diving into his breakfast and began recounting his dream about chocolate land, where he was the prince and Seokjin was the king. Seokjin asked about the roles of their dad and sister, but Soobin simply shrugged and continued eating, prompting a chuckle from Seokjin.

Just then, they heard footsteps descending the stairs. Seokjin turned to greet his daughter, enveloping her in a hug. She whined slightly, annoyed at the mess in her hair, but hugged him back nonetheless.

“Good morning, beautiful,” Seokjin said, kissing her forehead.

“Good morning, appa!” Jisoo replied with a smile as she settled next to her brother. “Morning, Kangaroo!” she teased, ruffling Soobin’s hair. She loved calling him that because he was always so attached to Seokjin, just like a kangaroo with its parents.

“Ya, ya! Morning, Jisoo!” Soobin said, swatting her hand away from his hair.

“Call her noona, binnie,” Jungkook chimed in as he entered the room, planting a peck on Seokjin’s lips. He pulled out a chair for Seokjin to sit in before heading back to the kitchen to serve two plates of pancakes that Seokjin had already prepared. Jungkook then made himself a bowl of cereal along with two cups of coffee.

When Jungkook handed a cup of coffee to Seokjin, he smiled at the sight of his husband’s beautiful grin. Seokjin mouthed a heartfelt ‘thank you,’ prompting Jungkook to lean in and place a gentle kiss on his lips, whispering, “You’re welcome,” before joining them at the table.

Jungkook always made an effort to help Seokjin in any way he could—whether it was cooking together, washing dishes after dinner, doing laundry on weekends, or talking every night about their days. He made breakfast in bed for Seokjin whenever possible and ensured they went on a date at least once a week. Jungkook had taken the wedding vow, “I will love and cherish you,” to heart, and Seokjin appreciated every moment with him. Seokjin often said, “Jungkook is the epitome of perfection.”

Once breakfast was finished, Jisoo grabbed her backpack and dashed toward her father’s car. “Shotgun!” she shouted excitedly, leaving Soobin behind, who whined in frustration as he tried to catch up while giving Seokjin a goodbye kiss.

“Don’t run, you both!” Seokjin called, chasing after them. He sighed and turned to Jungkook, who was waiting for his goodbye kiss. Seokjin leaned in and pressed his lips against Jungkook's for a few seconds until Jisoo made exaggerated gagging noises.

“Yeobo, I’ll come to take you to Dr. Suho. Don’t overwork yourself, and don’t prepare lunch—we’ll eat out!” Jungkook instructed, his tone caring.

“You don’t have to, love. I can go to the clinic myself. You don’t need to leave your work for my appointment,” Seokjin reassured him, though he knew Jungkook wouldn’t relent.

“Every time before an appointment, you say the same thing, and every time my reply is the same. I’m sure everyone in this house knows by now—”

“Yeobo, you are my everything,” Soobin and Jisoo chimed in from inside the car, used to this routine where Seokjin initially declined Jungkook’s offer but eventually agreed when Jungkook said his heartfelt line. Seokjin and Jungkook chuckled at their children’s mimicry.

“In sickness and in health, yeobo, remember,” Jungkook said, looking deeply into Seokjin’s eyes.

“In sickness and in health,” Seokjin echoed with a smile, meeting Jungkook’s gaze.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be there for you… forever,” Jungkook promised.

“I’ll be there for you too, love… always and forever.” They shared a sweet kiss, and Jisoo and Soobin beamed at their parents from the car, having witnessed their love for each other. It made them believe in true love in a world often filled with pretense.

After separating from the kiss, Jungkook gave a final kiss on seokjin's forehead and went to the driving seat with Jisoo in passenger seat and soobin in the backseat. Jungkook turned on the engine and took one last glance at his husband and started driving.

"Bye appa" yelled soobin from the window leaning out a little to which seokjin waved back at him while smiling and went inside their mansion once the car disappeared from seokjin's sight.
