The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as Mark and Charles loaded up the car, excitement buzzing in the air. This road trip had been planned as a getaway from the constant media buzz, a chance for them to relax and enjoy each other's company away from the racing circuits.

"Are you sure you packed everything?" Charles asked, glancing skeptically at the overflowing trunk.

Mark shrugged, a playful grin on his face. "I've got the essentials: snacks, music, and—" he opened a bag to reveal a collection of ridiculous hats, "—these!"

Charles shook his head, laughing. "We're going to look like idiots."

"Exactly! That's the point!" Mark chuckled, tossing a hat onto Charles' head. "You look good in pink."

They hit the road, music blasting as they sang along to every song they knew. The hours flew by as they navigated through winding roads and picturesque landscapes. With each passing mile, their camaraderie deepened, laughter spilling out like a fountain of joy.

---

As the sun began to set, they arrived at their first motel. "Well, here we are!" Mark announced, looking at the modest building with its neon "VACANCY" sign flickering above.

"Let's check in," Charles said, eager to drop their bags after a long drive.

They approached the front desk, only to find that there was one room left. The receptionist smiled apologetically. "Sorry, fellas. It's a couple's room. Just one bed."

Mark and Charles exchanged incredulous looks. "Uh, we're just friends," Mark said, trying to sound casual.

"He was talking about the room dummy" Charles tried to control his laugh.

"And also, we can share!" Charles added, feigning confidence.

With a shrug, they took the key and made their way to the room. Inside, they found a cozy but cramped space, with a large bed taking up most of the area.

"Guess we're sharing," Charles said, an amused glint in his eye.

"I'll take the edge," Mark replied, rolling his eyes. "But you better not steal the blanket!"

---

That night, as they settled in, Mark took the edge of the bed, but it wasn't long before he started tossing and turning. "This is ridiculous," he muttered, half-asleep. "How am I supposed to sleep like this?"

"Just try not to hog the bed," Charles groaned, rolling over.

Hours later, Mark's restlessness had reached its peak. He turned toward Charles, who was blissfully asleep. "Hey, Charles," he whispered.

"What?" Charles mumbled, barely awake.

"Do you think we could... switch spots? I feel like I'm falling off the bed."

Charles sighed but reluctantly moved to the edge. "Fine, just don't kick me in your sleep."Mark grinned, pleased with himself as they finally settled into a somewhat comfortable arrangement.

---

In the middle of the night, the warmth of the blankets and the soothing rhythm of Charles' breathing drew Mark into a peaceful sleep. As he drifted off, he unconsciously snuggled closer to Charles, wrapping an arm around him like a teddy bear.

When morning came, the sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. Mark stirred, blinking sleepily as he realized he was half on top of Charles, his head resting comfortably against Charles' shoulder.

For a moment, he panicked, but then he caught a whiff of Charles' familiar scent—fresh, like the outdoors mixed with a hint of cologne. It felt surprisingly nice, safe even. He couldn't help but smile, feeling warmth spreading through his chest.

"Morning, sleepyhead," Charles said, his voice thick with sleep as he stretched beneath Mark.

"Care to move off me?"

"Uhh, sorry," Mark said, slightly embarrassed, but he couldn't deny how comfortable it felt to be close to Charles. Reluctantly, he rolled off and plopped back onto his side of the bed.

Charles chuckled, shaking his head. "You were snuggling me like a teddy bear."

"Guess I'm just a cuddly guy," Mark replied with a playful smirk, trying to cover up his embarrassment.

"Just don't make it a habit," Charles shot back, but the smile on his face betrayed his amusement.

---

The next day, they decided to head out for some camping. Mark was thrilled, imagining evenings filled with laughter around a campfire. When they arrived at the campsite, the reality of setting up camp hit them.

"Okay, let's see what we've got," Mark said, unpacking his tent.

After an hour of struggling, Mark was on the verge of losing his patience. He read the instructions again, frustration mounting. "How.Is.This.Even.Supposed.To.Work?" he groaned, kicking at the tent in a fit of rage.

With a final frustrated kick, the tent collapsed in on itself. "Are you kidding me?!" he exclaimed, hands on his hips.

Charles couldn't help but laugh. "Looks like you've got a real talent for tent demolition."

"Shut up," Mark said, trying to stifle his own laughter. "At least I didn't kick your tent down.""Yet," Charles quipped, enjoying Mark's misfortune.

With nowhere else to go, Mark begrudgingly accepted his fate. "Alright, fine. I'll share your tent.""Just don't bring your drama into my space," Charles warned, grinning widely.

As they settled into Charles' tent, the night took a cozy turn. They both huddled in their sleeping bags, sharing stories and secrets about their lives and dreams, their voices mingling with the sound of crickets chirping outside.

"Remember that time you almost crashed at Monaco?" Mark asked, chuckling at the memory. "I thought you were going to fly off the track!"

"Hey, I was just testing the limits," Charles shot back, his eyes glinting with mischief.

"Testing the limits or testing your luck?" Mark teased, nudging him playfully.

They spent hours talking, the warmth of the fire flickering beside them. For the first time in a long time, Mark felt relaxed. It was just him and Charles, no pressures, no cameras—just two friends finding comfort in each other's company.

@F1_Socialz: "Why are they so cute together?? Someone tell them to date already!"

@MarkandCharlesForever: "If I don't see a romantic campfire kiss in the next post, I'll be very disappointed."

---

As they finally settled in for the night, Mark couldn't help but feel grateful. "Thanks for letting me crash in your tent," he said quietly, glancing over at Charles, who was already half-asleep.

"Just don't snore," Charles murmured, a small smile tugging at his lips as he drifted off.

Mark chuckled to himself, the warmth of the fire and the company of his friend wrapping around him like a cozy blanket.

They woke up next morning snuggling again as somehow they were both out of their sleeping bags and were holding each other like their teddy bear.

"Ugh. Not Again" they both groaned blushing and chuckling.
