"Alex?" "Hey babe, I need your help." "Alex, we are not together and haven't been in almost a year now. Call one of your friends to help you out." Alex was my on again off again boyfriend in school until I switched to online. The longest we were together was the last time, the relationship lasting a little over a year. He was my first everything, we grew up together. But over time he showed his true colors in high school when he got with the wrong group of friends. Don't get me wrong I made my fair share of mistakes in school, but I also grew up around people in the music industry and learned to get my shit together real quick.

"But baby I still love you and I need you to come pick me up from the bonfire!" He whines through the phone at me, clearly drunk with people laughing around him. I can hear a female giggling close to the phone, indicating that he has yet another piece of arm candy with him. "Dude I can literally hear whatever groupie is with you right now. I am not driving thirty minutes across town just to pick your ass up so you can hit on me the whole way home and try to get into my pants again. Or try to convince me to talk to my brothers' band and throw up in my passenger seat. So, no I will not be giving you a ride home."

He sighs into the phone, very upset with the situation at hand, as he goes to speak again Brendon walks up from behind and asks if I'm okay, clearly seeing that I am upset and shouting into the phone across the yard. I pull the phone away from my ear and tell him that I'm fine and just need a minute. He makes his way back to his friends who all share the same concerned look he had when he came over.

"Mack please! I didn't drive here, and David left with Sophie a hour ago. I have no one to get me!" Alex continues to shout and slur his words into the phone. Maybe I should go? I don't want the kid to end up in a ditch somewhere trying to get home, I did grow up with him, even after all the mistakes he's made he was still my best friend for eight years.

"If I come get you, you OWE me big time Alex. I am not putting up with your bullshit, and no trying to bring anyone else with you. I come, you get into my car, I bring you home and I leave. Got it?" "Yes Mack. Thank you so much." "Yea whatever I'll leave right after I tell Brendon. Give me 45 and I'll be there."

I hang up the phone and walk back towards the band as they all start bombarding me with questions; "Who was that?", "Are you okay?" "MJ what's going on?" Finally, I go and sit in the chair next to my big brothers and just stare at him.

"What do you want?" He looks at me suspiciously like he knows exactly what is happening, probably because this has happened before.

"Uhm, I'm gonna to go to the bonfire out at Bishops Point for a little bit. Ashley just called and begged me to actually come out for once. I promise no drinking, no drugs, and no boys. I'll be back by 3." Suddenly Spencer picks me up, "But you're so little! What if you get kidnapped MJ! Stay here and hangout with the cool people!" I manage to wrangle myself out of his arms to Brendon staring me down, trying not to laugh at his best friend's antics.

"Promise no drinking?" "Yes B, I'm driving myself so no drinking." "Or drugs?" "Again, yes no drugs." "No boys... no Alex?" "Yes B, no Alex. I just want to hang out with people my own age for once before tour starts again." I hate lying to him, but I needed him to let me out of the house. "Okay fine. Be back by three and keep your phone on!"

I'm already running towards the sliding glass doors as he yells at my back. Throwing on a hoodie and jeans and slipping on a pair of vans as I grab my keys and race to my car.
