A young girl with more energy than sense doesn't fit in well in a dense city- yearning for grass under her toes and fresh wind in her hair. Confined in a small space with concrete beneath her feet with the less-than-fresh scent of gas in her nose, she was labeled a troubled child. She could never sit still for more than just a moment in a classroom, eyes always glued to the windows and notes not taken but instead covered in the doodles of the pigeons that pecked at the ground just outside.

But with the heat of summer releasing her from the prison that is school- she packs her bags with joy and rushes to the car. Freedom was on the horizon in a valley full of stardew.

"GRANDPA!"

She yells as she jumps out of the bus into loving arms, arms that understand. Here in Westwood Farm... she's home.

"...And for my very special granddaughter; I want you to have this sealed envelope. No, no, don't open it yet... have patience. Now, listen closely... There will come a day when you feel crushed by the burden of modern life... and your bright spirit will fade beneath a growing emptiness. When that happens, my dear, you'll be ready for this gift."

And just like that...

Summer wasn't quite as free.
