Iris settled into her room, the aroma of her breakfast wafting in the air as the maid brought it in on a tray.

The sight of fresh fruit, toast, and a steaming cup of herbal tea was comforting, and she felt grateful for the small indulgence. As she took her first bite, she savored the flavors, allowing herself a moment of relaxation.

After a few minutes, she remembered Inigo and asked the maid, "How did my son sleep? Is he up yet?"

The maid smiled. "He's still sleeping, but I can check on him if you'd like."

"Yes, please. I'd love to know how he's doing," Iris replied, her heart warmed by the thought of her son.

A few moments later, the maid returned, her expression bright. "He's awake now and getting ready. Would you like me to send him to your room for breakfast together?"

"That would be perfect," Iris said, relieved at the idea of having some quality time with Inigo, especially since she couldn't move around easily.

Not long after, she heard a soft knock at her door. "Mommy?" Inigo called, his voice still a bit sleepy but full of excitement.

"Come in, sweetheart!" Iris replied, smiling as the door swung open. Inigo bounded in, his hair tousled and his eyes brightening at the sight of her.

"Good morning, Mommy!" he exclaimed, rushing to her side. "Are we having breakfast together?"

"Yes, we are! I thought it would be nice to enjoy breakfast in bed today," Iris said, patting the space next to her.

Inigo climbed onto the bed, a huge grin on his face. "Yay! I love breakfast in bed!" he said, reaching for a piece of toast.

They settled in, sharing stories and laughter as they enjoyed their meal together. Iris felt a surge of happiness as she watched Inigo happily munching on his food, his little face lighting up with every bite.

"How did you sleep?" she asked, taking a sip of her tea.

"Great! I dreamed about flying!" he replied, his eyes wide with enthusiasm. "And I saved a dragon!"

Iris chuckled, imagining her adventurous little boy soaring through the skies. "That sounds amazing! You're quite the hero, aren't you?"

"Yeah! But I wish I could fly for real!" he said, his imagination running wild.

"I bet you could if you really wanted to," Iris encouraged, her heart swelling with pride. "You can do anything you set your mind to, Inigo."

As they finished breakfast, Iris felt a wave of contentment wash over her. Despite her exhaustion, these moments with her son reminded her of what truly mattered.

They were both wrapped up in their little world, sharing dreams and laughter, and for Iris, that was the perfect start to her day.
