Just as the intensity between them grew, a sharp knock echoed through the car window, cutting through the charged atmosphere. Startled, they both froze, their breaths mingling as they looked toward the source of the interruption. Through the rain-spattered, tinted window, Randhir saw Deepak standing there, concern etched on his face as he shielded his eyes to peer inside.

Randhir released a quiet sigh, frustration evident in his eyes. He gently brushed his thumb across Ragini's cheek, offering a soft, lingering touch as if to reassure her, before adjusting himself and opening the window slightly.

"Sir, are you alright?" Deepak asked, his voice barely audible over the patter of rain.

Randhir nodded, casting a quick glance at Ragini, who was trying to fix her saree and straighten herself. "Haan, Deepak. Just a small issue with the car," he replied, his voice calm but with a hint of annoyance at the interruption.

"I brought the other car, as you asked. And I've picked up Trisha and Agastya from school," Deepak continued, sensing Randhir's impatience.

Randhir glanced back at Ragini, who gave him a small, understanding smile. She could feel her cheeks still warm from the moment they had shared, but she quickly smoothed her saree, nodding in agreement.

"Good, Deepak," Randhir said, his tone softening slightly as he saw Ragini's comforting expression. "Let's switch cars. I'll drive them home from here."

Deepak gave a polite nod, stepping back to allow them room to exit.

As Randhir stepped out into the rain, he held the door open for Ragini, helping her into the new car. Before she settled in, he took a moment to lean in close, whispering, "This isn't over, Ragini. Just wait until we're home."

A shy smile graced her lips as she slipped into the seat, the warmth from his words lingering as he closed the door.

Randhir turned to check the backseat and saw Trisha beaming up at him, her little hand happily clasped in Agastya's. He raised his eyebrows, feigning a serious look as he narrowed his gaze at Agastya, who gave him a small, cheeky grin and tightened his hold on Trisha's hand as if in playful defiance.

"Accha, accha... kya ho raha hai yahan?" he asked, glancing pointedly at their joined hands.

Trisha giggled, oblivious to the silent exchange. "Randhir uncle, Agastya mera dost hai! Hum hamesha haath pakadte hain," she said proudly, flashing her friend an approving smile.

Ragini chuckled softly beside Randhir, enjoying the lighthearted moment. "Chhodo na, Randhir," she whispered. "Bacchon ko apni dosti enjoy karne do."

Randhir sighed, mockingly dramatic. "Haan haan, sab milke mere khilaf ho jao," he muttered, glancing back at Agastya with a look of playful warning. "Lekin yaad rakhna, Agastya babu, main tum par nazar rakhe hue hoon."

Agastya just smirked, unperturbed, while Trisha giggled, delighted by the entire exchange. "Chalein, uncle?" she asked, tugging on his sleeve as if to bring him back to their little world.

Relenting, Randhir nodded, giving Ragini a quick glance that made her heart flutter. "Chalo," he said, starting the car. As they drove, Ragini leaned closer to him, amused by the way he had playfully staked his claim.

"Kabhi lagta hai tum mere aur Trisha ke upar kuch zyada hi haq jatate ho," she teased gently, her voice carrying a soft warmth.

He met her gaze, his expression turning sincere. "Tum dono meri zindagi ka hissa ho, Ragini. Tum dono par haq hai, aur hamesha rahega," he whispered, squeezing her hand.

Ragini's smile deepened, her heart warmed by the quiet promise in his words. The car ride continued with the sound of the children's chatter and laughter, blending seamlessly with the growing closeness between them.
