"Kya ho raha hai yahan pe?" (What’s going on here?) Randhir asked the guard, his tone firm.

The guard looked surprised and slightly intimidated by Randhir’s sudden appearance and quickly averted his gaze from Ragini. "Thakur sahab, inka meeting ka time 15 minute pehle khatam ho gaya tha, lekin ye aayi nahi. Ab ye school ke andar jana chahti hain," (Thakur sahab, her meeting ended 15 minutes ago, but she didn’t come. Now she wants to enter the school) the guard explained, bowing his head respectfully.

"Jaane do," (Let her in) Randhir instructed, his voice leaving no room for argument.

"Lekin Thakur sahab, principal madam ne inse milne se mana kar diya hai," (But Thakur sahab, the principal madam has refused to meet her) the guard protested.

"Aise kaise mana kar diya hai? Ye school mera hai. Yahan log apni kaabiliyat ki wajah se padhte hain," (How can she refuse? This school is mine. People study here because of their ability) Randhir replied, his tone authoritative.

He glanced at Ragini and then at Trisha’s frightened face before smiling gently at the little girl. "Gudiya, aapko is school mein padhna hai?" (Sweetheart, do you want to study in this school?) Randhir asked kindly.

Trisha looked up at him and nodded eagerly. Randhir turned back to Ragini and said, "Chaliye, main aapka admission karwa dunga." (Let’s go, I will arrange for your admission.)

"Lekin aap hain kon? Aur meri madad kyun karenge?" (But who are you? And why will you help me?) Ragini asked, her voice laced with confusion.

Randhir didn’t meet her gaze and replied, "Maalik hain hum is school ke. Chaliye." (I am the owner of this school. Let’s go.)

He walked towards the main gate, and Ragini quickly followed, holding Trisha in her arms.

"Ji, shukriya hamari madad karne ke liye," (Yes, thank you for helping us) Ragini said gratefully.

"Hum aapki nahi, apne dost ki madad kar rahe hain," (We are helping not you, but our friend) Randhir replied with a hint of a smile.

"Ji?" (What?) Ragini asked, puzzled.

"Ye gudiya humari dost hai," (This little girl is our friend) Randhir explained.

Trisha happily nodded and said, "Dost, choco di." (Friend, gave chocolate.)

"Inhone di thi chocolate?" (Did he give you the chocolate?) Ragini asked Trisha.

Trisha smiled and nodded at her mother. Ragini didn’t say anything further and proceeded into the principal's office with Trisha.

Randhir took a seat and gestured for Ragini to sit as well. Trisha climbed onto her mother’s lap, her curious eyes taking in the surroundings of the office.

After a brief interview with the principal, Trisha was accepted for admission.

"Ragini ji, Trisha bohot bright aur intelligent hai, lekin aap fees kaise bharengi? Maante hain ki yahan ki fees kam hai, lekin aapke paas naukri nahi hai," (Ragini ji, Trisha is very bright and intelligent, but how will you pay the fees? We understand that the fees here are low, but you don’t have a job) the principal inquired.

"Ji, main job dhund rahi hoon, aur abhi mere paas itne paise hain ki main apni beti ki fees bhar sakoon," (Yes, I am looking for a job, and I currently have enough money to pay my daughter’s fees) Ragini replied earnestly.

Randhir looked at her, puzzled, and asked, "Aapke pati nahi kamate?" (Doesn’t your husband earn?)

"Ji, mere pati zinda nahi hain. Kuch mahine pehle ek accident mein unki maut ho gayi," (No, my husband is not alive. He passed away in an accident a few months ago) Ragini explained quietly.

Randhir stared at her, and despite not understanding why, he felt a sense of relief at the news that she was single.

Randhir's gaze lingered on Ragini, his eyes moving over her with a renewed intensity now that he knew she wasn’t bound to anyone else. His thoughts raced, a mix of desire and intrigue as he observed her.

"Inki fees maaf hai, admission karao gudiya ka aaj hi," (Her fees are waived; admit the little girl today.) Randhir instructed the principal firmly.

"Lekin Thakur sahab—" (But Thakur sahab—) the principal began to protest, but Randhir cut her off sharply. "Ye school mera hai, yahan wahi hoga jo main bolunga," (This is my school, and what I say goes here.) he declared with an air of authority.

The principal nodded in acquiescence and promptly called the administration staff to finalize Trisha’s admission process.

Once the paperwork was complete, Randhir, Ragini, and Trisha stepped outside. Ragini expressed her gratitude repeatedly, her voice tinged with relief and appreciation.

"Ragini ji, ye toh mera farz tha," (Ragini ji, it was my duty to help) Randhir replied with a warm smile, his tone gentle.

"Ab aap jaiye, gudiya bhi bohot thaki hui lag rahi hai," (Now you should go; the little girl looks very tired) Randhir added, his gaze softening as he looked at Trisha's weary eyes.

"Ji, aapka bohot bohot shukriya," (Yes, thank you so much) Ragini said gratefully.

Randhir simply smiled, watching as Ragini and Trisha walked away. His eyes followed them, taking in every detail as they moved down the path.

As he lit a cigarette, Randhir muttered to himself, "Ragini ji, ab toh aapko humara bana ke hi rahenge," (Ragini ji, now I will make sure you become mine.) His gaze shifted to Trisha, and a genuine, warm smile appeared on his face. "Pyari bacchi hai," (She’s a sweet little girl) he said softly.

Though his feelings for Ragini were driven by desire and lust, the connection he felt with Trisha was different. It was a sincere and unexpected fondness, a stark contrast to his personality.
