Author's Pov
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, you haven't heard anything about jungkook.
Months pass, and Jungkook becomes a ghost, disappearing from your life entirely. Your father returns, his grip on the family business tightening once more. You're left at home, a prisoner of your own circumstances, your heart still belonging to the man you couldn't have.
The realization dawned on you gradually. It was in the quiet moments, when you'd catch herself daydreaming about his smile, his laugh, his touch. It was in the way your heart ached whenever you thought about him, a physical pain that you couldn't ignore.
It hit you like a ton of bricks one evening, as you were staring out at the rain-soaked streets from your bedroom window. You loved him. You loved Jungkook, the gangster, the man your father despised. You loved him with every fiber of you being.
You paced in your room, your heart pounding with fear and indecision. You loved him, you knew that now. But could you go against your father? Could you betray your family's name, their heritage? You knew what your father was capable of.
Your father had always been a stern man, his word law. You had seen the way he had destroyed those who dared to defy him. And now, you were contemplating the ultimate defiance. Tears streamed down your face as you wrestled with your emotions. "I...I can't…"
You couldn't choose between your father and Jungkook, you knew that loving Jungkook would bring so many problems, but still you dared to do that. You crumples to the floor, burying your face in your knees as you finally let yourself breakdown completely.
"Why is it so hard?" You whispered to herself, your voice shaking, you knew that it'd hurt but it'd hurt you so much you didn't know this.
It's like every nerve of your body is hurting, the pain unbearable, your chest heaving with pain as your breath becomes abnormal.
On one side, your lover, whom you love so much, with whom you'd be the happiest, who'll treat you very well, who'll never bring tears to your eyes.
And on the other side your father, your family, with whom you grew up from a kid to a lady, who always gave you happiness, who always treated you with love.
Your mind and brain is in a war and you know that whoever will win will bring you loss, you'd lose someone precious to you.
You remembered the vow Jungkook had made - that he would leave everything behind for you. But you couldn't let him make that sacrifice, not when it could cost him everything. "I have to protect him..." You whispered to herself, your heart aching.
In that moment, you realized that loving him meant letting him go. It meant sacrificing your own happiness for his safety. Tears flowed freely as you accepted this painful truth. You loved him too much to risk his life, to drag him into the dangerous world of your family's feuds and power struggles.
You stood there, heart pounding, as the weight of realization crashed over you like a tidal wave. The bitter truth cut deeper than any blade ever could. Loving him, truly and deeply, meant setting him free. It meant building a wall around her heart, even as it shattered into a million pieces.
Your eyes, once bright with hope and love, now dulled with resignation and sorrow. You feel like you're losing yourself, like you're disappearing into the darkness of this impossible choice. Every fiber of your being screamed to hold on, to fight for their love, but you knew it was futile.
You knew your father had arranged your marriage to someone else and you had chosen your family over jungkook. You have chosen your family, chosen duty and honor over your heart's deepest desire. You're the obedient daughter, sacrificing your happiness on the altar of familial obligation.
