Han River

"Blockade in the east. I repeat, blockade in the east."Officer Hana almost jumped out of the car, eyes hooded and ears perked up at the phone.

At present, the team is by the Han river, with all the equipments and siren coming from the background with loads of voices from the locals, all accumulated to witness once in a blue moon scene.

Police tape flapped lightly in the breeze, cordoning off a section of the river where a body had been pulled ashore. As the paramedics carefully transferred the drenched figure onto a stretcher, Hana's heart clenched.

Choi walked forward, gently patting her shoulder.

"Jung said the body was found last night, the victim was burnt before throwing in the water."

"D-don't tell me it's... m-my K.. Kookie"

Choi shook his head, "Hey, It's still unidentified.Okay? This isn't the lioness who roars at me everyday..."

The woman barely calmed at the words. Thirty two years of experience and yet it's her first time to panic at the sight of corpse.

"L-let me check."

She took a step closer, instinctively bracing herself as the sheet was gently pulled back to reveal the face.

The body was burnt up to the extent where the bare remains of flesh are covering the now exposed bones and skull. Blueish veins, mottled gray and green hue, and parts of it had started to peel and dissolve, revealing raw, decomposed tissue underneath.

A foul smell wafted through the air, so overpowering that several officers discreetly covered their noses, swallowing hard to keep their stomachs settled.

The Chief sat on her knees, looking into oblivion.

Hana's stern expression softened for a brief moment as she closed her eyes, breathing a silent thanks, before straightening once more.

"It's not Jungkook."

Kim's Mansion.

The cool night air swiped through the lavish rooftop of Taehyung's 19th-floor mansion, the quiet hum of the city below is a distant echo.

The water in the pool shimmered under the moonlight as Taehyung, submerged up to his chest, leaned back with a practiced ease. His dark hair slicked back, muscles relaxed, yet his sharp eyes remained vigilant, weirdly calm.
