In the primordial times, when the world was still forming and the forces of nature were wild and untamed, the ancient gods and spirits shaped the land, sea, and sky. To maintain balance and order, they created powerful guardians, each embodying a different aspect of nature. These guardians were the first of the great monsters, tasked with protecting the world and its natural harmony.
Among them, the eldest was Drakthar, the Shadow Serpent. Born from the shadows of ancient forests by Nyxar, the god of night, Drakthar moved unseen to protect the forests with his venom and nocturnal command.
Next were the twins, Terragor and Nerath. Terragor, the Earthen Behemoth, formed from the mountains and stone by Terran, the god of earth and strength, molded the land with his immense power, carving mountains, valleys, and plains. Nerath, the Sea Leviathan, summoned from the ocean's depths by Thalassa, the goddess of the sea, ruled the waters. His ability to conjure tidal waves and whirlpools cleansed the seas but brought peril to sailors and coastal dwellers.
The triplets followed, each bringing their unique gifts. Volkran, the Fire Titan, forged from the molten core by Ignar, the god of fire, regulated volcanic activity, ensuring the land's fertility through volcanic ash. His fiery breath renewed Eldoria while leaving paths of destruction. Morgath, the Ice Wyrm, created by Glaciana, the goddess of winter, balanced the seasons, preserving life with her icy breath and blizzards. Zephyra, the Storm Harpy, crafted by Zephyrus, the god of wind, controlled the weather, bringing nourishing rain and cleansing storms, her power a double-edged sword.
The youngest of the guardians was Solara, created by Helion and Luminaria. Solara embodied the sun and light, her radiant presence banishing darkness, ensuring hope and vitality.
Distinct from these elemental guardians stood Gorgath. Forged by Aetherion, Gorgath's purpose was unique—he was created to maintain the delicate balance among the elements and guardians themselves. Combining Eldoria's strength, heat, and resilience, Gorgath's roar could shake the heavens, his immense power acting as a check to prevent any one element from overpowering the others. Unlike the others, his sole purpose was to ensure equilibrium, a living embodiment of balance.
For millennia, these guardians kept harmony. Yet as Eldorians expanded, they feared the wandering colossus, Gorgath. Their prayers reached Eldrin, a master sorcerer, who turned Gorgath to stone at the cost of his life force. Peace prevailed, but the balance was fragile, and the land lay vulnerable.
