{{M I L O's POV}}

The car ride with Elias was eerily silent, the weight of what lay ahead pressing heavily on my shoulders. I stared out the window, watching the familiar sights of Greenwood fade into the distance. My heart raced with a mix of fear and excitement. Becoming a demon slayer was a path I never imagined for myself, but now, it was my reality.

We drove for what felt like hours, the landscape gradually changing from the quaint town to dense, shadowy forests. Elias remained silent, his eyes focused on the road ahead. I took the time to gather my thoughts, reminding myself why I had chosen this path—to protect my family and make a difference.

Finally, we arrived at a secluded mansion, hidden deep within the forest. The place exuded an aura of mystery and power, and I felt a shiver run down my spine as we approached the front gates. Elias parked the car and turned to me, his expression serious.

"Welcome to your new home, Milo," he said, his voice firm. "This is where your training will begin."

I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat. "I'm ready."

As we stepped out of the car, the front doors of the mansion creaked open, revealing a tall, elegant woman with piercing blue eyes. She wore a long, flowing robe that shimmered in the dim light, and her presence commanded respect.

"Ah, Elias. I see you've brought our newest recruit," she said, her gaze shifting to me. "Welcome, Milo. My name is Selene. I will be overseeing your training."

I offered a nervous smile, feeling the weight of her scrutiny. "Thank you, Selene. It's an honor to be here."

She nodded, her expression softening slightly. "Come inside. We have much to discuss."

The mansion was grand, with high ceilings, intricate tapestries, and ancient relics adorning the walls. It felt like stepping into another world, one filled with history and secrets. Selene led us to a large, candlelit chamber where a group of individuals stood waiting. They wore similar robes, each one bearing a unique emblem.

"These are your fellow demon slayers," Selene explained. "You will train together, learn from each other, and grow as a team. Introduce yourselves."

One by one, they stepped forward, offering their names and a brief introduction. There was Liora, a fierce young woman with a talent for combat; Caleb, a skilled healer with a calm demeanor; Ivy, a master of stealth and reconnaissance; and Dorian, a strategist with a sharp mind and quick reflexes. Each one had their own story, their own reasons for joining the demon slayers.

Finally, it was my turn. I took a deep breath and stepped forward. "I'm Milo Yurchenko. I'm here to protect my family and help make the world a safer place."

Selene nodded approvingly. "A noble cause. Now, let us begin."

The first few days of training were grueling. Selene pushed us to our limits, testing our physical and mental endurance. We learned to fight with various weapons, hone our senses, and harness the power of our emotions. It was exhausting, but I could feel myself growing stronger with each passing day.

Despite the intensity of the training, my thoughts often drifted back to my family. I missed my siblings terribly and worried about how they were coping without me. But knowing that I was doing this for them kept me going, gave me the strength to push through the pain and exhaustion.

One evening, as the sun set and cast long shadows across the training grounds, I found myself alone with Elias. He had been observing my progress closely, and I sensed he had something important to say.

"You're doing well, Milo," he said, his voice softer than usual. "But I can see the burden you carry. It's not easy, leaving your family behind."

I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. "I just want to protect them. To make sure they're safe."

Elias placed a hand on my shoulder, his gaze unwavering. "And you will. But remember, you can't do it alone. Lean on your fellow slayers. Trust in their strength as well as your own."

His words resonated deeply with me, and I realized that I had been trying to shoulder everything on my own. It was time to let my guard down and rely on the team that was forming around me.

As the weeks turned into months, our training intensified. We faced simulated battles, practiced strategic maneuvers, and learned to harness our individual talents for the greater good. I grew closer to my fellow slayers, and we began to function as a cohesive unit.

One night, after an especially brutal training session, we gathered around a bonfire, sharing stories and laughter. It was the first time I felt a true sense of belonging since joining the demon slayers. Liora told tales of her childhood in the mountains, Caleb shared his journey as a healer, and Ivy regaled us with stories of her daring escapades.

When it was my turn, I spoke of Greenwood, of my siblings and the challenges we faced. I told them about Freya's favoritism towards Anya and how it had fueled my determination to protect my family. The group listened intently, their empathy and support palpable.

"You've been through so much, Milo," Ivy said, her voice filled with admiration. "But you're stronger for it. We're lucky to have you with us."

As the fire crackled and the night grew darker, I felt a sense of camaraderie that I hadn't experienced before. These were not just fellow slayers; they were my new family, and I knew that together, we could face any challenge that came our way.

The turning point came during a particularly intense training exercise. Selene had arranged a mock battle, complete with simulated demons and various obstacles. We were divided into teams, and our objective was to retrieve a hidden artifact while fending off attacks.

As we navigated the treacherous terrain, I found myself leading my team, my senses heightened and my instincts sharp. We worked together seamlessly, each of us playing to our strengths. When we finally reached the artifact, I felt a surge of pride and accomplishment.

But the real test came when one of the simulated demons broke through our defenses, heading straight for Caleb. Without hesitation, I launched myself at the creature, fighting with every ounce of strength I had. The battle was fierce, but I refused to back down. I could hear my teammates shouting encouragement, their voices giving me the strength to keep fighting.

Finally, with a powerful strike, I defeated the demon. The training exercise ended, and Selene called us back to the main hall. As we gathered, she looked at me with a mixture of pride and approval.

"Milo, your bravery and leadership in the face of danger have proven that you are ready," she said, her voice resonating through the chamber. "From this day forward, you are an official demon slayer."

The room erupted in cheers, my fellow slayers congratulating me and clapping me on the back. I felt a sense of accomplishment and purpose that I had never known before. I was no longer just a protector of my family; I was a guardian of humanity, ready to face the shadows and defend those who could not defend themselves.

That night, as I lay in my new room at the mansion, I thought of my family back in Greenwood. I knew I still had a long way to go, but I was determined to see this journey through. For them, for my fellow slayers, and for the countless lives that depended on our vigilance.

The path ahead was fraught with danger, but I was ready. I had found my purpose, and with the strength of my new family behind me, I knew I could face whatever came my way. The shadows may be ever-present, but so was my resolve.

And with that, my journey as a demon slayer truly began.
