After a joyous wedding, Shira and Farhan began crafting a new rhythm to life as husband and wife. They embraced each other's needs, dreams, and quirks, drawing closer with each passing day. Though marriage had brought them together in an extraordinary way, their new life felt fresh, as if it renewed them both each day.
The cozy home they chose, a modest yet warm space near the quiet outskirts of Jugra Military Base Camp, echoed their personalities. Every corner reflected their shared tastes—Shira's love for simple, charming decor blended with Farhan's preference for elegant, practical furniture.
Their mornings were filled with gentle rituals. Shira often rose early to make breakfast, enjoying the quiet of the kitchen before Farhan joined her with a warm morning smile that seemed to ease her heart. He'd help around the kitchen or read at the dining table, and in those small, everyday moments, they found a deeper bond.
One morning, as Shira poured coffee into two mugs, Farhan scanned his work schedule at the table.
"Do you have a new mission assignment next week?" Shira asked, setting a mug before him.
Farhan nodded, sipping his coffee with a reassuring smile. "Yes, but it's a short one. I'll be back before the weekend. I promised not to take long mission assignments for a while."
A soft smile crossed Shira's face, comforted by his promise. After everything they had been through, they had made the decision together to prioritize a balance between work and personal life. Farhan no longer accepted extended missions that kept them apart for too long—a choice they had both embraced wholeheartedly for the health of their marriage.
Alongside building their home life, Shira focused on her career. After years in university research, earning her Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, she was now immersed in a project she was passionate about. Supported by Farhan's encouragement, she pursued research in aerodynamics and aircraft structure—a lifelong dream.
One evening after dinner, Farhan sat on the couch reading mission reports while Shira organized documents for her project at her small workspace in the living room.
"You look very busy, love," Farhan teased, watching her concentrate on her work.
Shira laughed softly. "Sorry, dear. There's so much to finish. I want to do my best on this project—I'm hoping to present the results at next year's conference."
Farhan smiled with pride. "I know you'll do your best. And I know you'll achieve even more than that."
Her confidence lifted; Shira felt assured once more. Whenever she doubted her abilities, Farhan's support gave her the strength to keep going. Together, they weren't just fighting for love but also for their dreams.
They also made time to enjoy life, taking small getaways to peaceful places. Though Farhan remained committed to his role in PASKAU and Shira was busy with her research, they often planned weekends to escape the bustle of everyday life.
Once, Farhan surprised Shira with a short trip to a little villa by a serene mountain lake. On their first night there, they sat by a crackling fire outside the villa, wrapped in a blanket, gazing up at the starry sky.
"This reminds me of our time in Jugra," Shira whispered, her eyes on the stars.
Farhan held her hand, a warm smile lighting his face. "Yes, but this time, we don't have to worry about anything. No shadows of the past. Just us and our future."
Shira nodded, feeling a newfound freedom beside the man she loved. Their future felt brighter than ever.
A few months later, life was in perfect harmony. Shira was immersed in her project, while Farhan continued his work with renewed focus. But amidst their routine, Shira started to feel a subtle change within herself. At first, she thought it was just fatigue from her workload.
Over time, however, she began to suspect that her exhaustion was not ordinary. There were signs, but she didn't want to speculate alone.
One morning, as she prepared breakfast like usual, Farhan sat at the table, going over his schedule. Shira stood by the sink, her hands trembling slightly around a cup of tea. She glanced at Farhan, searching for the right words.
"Love.... " Shira began softly, her voice carrying a deeper significance.
Farhan looked up, concern crossing his face. "Yes, honey?"
Shira set down her cup and sat across from him. "I'm...uhmm... my period.. seems late this month." She hesitated, but a faint smile played on her lips. "I think... we might be getting something even bigger than what we planned."
Farhan's expression grew serious. "What do you mean...?"
With a small smile and a hint of excitement, Shira finally revealed, "I think... I think I might be pregnant."
Farhan paused, letting the news sink in. His eyes widened, and an ecstatic smile stretched across his face. "Seriously, honey? We're... we're going to have a baby?!"
Shira nodded, tears of joy welling in her eyes. "Yes, I'm not completely sure, but the signs I'm feeling, and... this." She showed him the pregnancy test she'd taken that morning, displaying two distinctive lines.
Farhan stood, moving to Shira's side and pulling her into a tight embrace. "Allahuakbar, my love! This... this is the best news I've ever heard. Ya Allah, thank you so much."
They stayed there in each other's arms, the world around them standing still. A fresh wave of happiness washed over their lives, and they knew that with this new life, their love would only grow deeper.
A few days later, after confirming the pregnancy with a doctor, Shira and Farhan's joy became uncontainable. Their lives were about to transform completely, and together, they prepared for this new chapter—a small family they would soon welcome with open hearts.
In their quiet, love-filled home, Shira and Farhan prepared for the arrival of their baby. They looked toward the future with anticipation, faith, and a love that was stronger than ever.
Farhan's words held true: as long as the calm, beautiful sky stretched above them, the peace and love in his heart for Shahira Jasmina would remain steadfast, embracing her always.
