Nothing special happened today - it's not like I'm starting this diary to mark a special occasion, like an important birthday (though one of those is coming up) or a new year. I just felt like writing about my day, so here it goes.

It was pretty warm today, compared to the temperatures of the past week - hopefully the cold streak has broken. The mountain outside is bursting with autumn colors, like red and orange and brown. The front yard under the silver maple is littered with crumpled leaves.

I slept in this morning, as usual. My dog Stella came into my room and curled up at my feet right when I was about to get up, so I *had* to stay in bed for a little longer so I wouldn't disturb her. When I finally did hop out of bed (probably nine o'clock), I dressed in a light long-sleeve flowery crop-top and jeans. I hurried downstairs, smiled at my mom - who was making French toast eggs - and ran outside to tend to my chickens. I let them outside of their run, propped open a window in each coop (there's two), refilled a dirty water dish, and fed them.
After that, I went back inside and sat down at my desk in the classroom to do my online Spanish lessons. I'm homeschooled, and I do all my lessons in a designated room, which has three desks (mine, my sister's, and my mom's). I opened my computer and signed into Duolingo™, an online language-learning platform.
Once finished with Spanish, I made some tea (spearmint with caffeine) and began my Math lesson, a review on simplifying fractions. I'm doing pre-algebra. Afterwards, I sat down with my mom and sister and did watched a kids' news channel while eating breakfast. Then I did Language Arts, in which I worked on a little art lesson about perspective and practiced properly using semicolons.
Finally, at about noon, the three of us sat outside while my sister and I sketched and my mom read a History book aloud. I drew eyes - over and over and over. Yep. Anywaayyy....
This afternoon, I volunteered at the local library, helping clean up after a Halloween tea-party event. I chatted with the host while wiping up paint, throwing away candy wrappers, and washing tea cups. After an hour of that, I went out for dinner with my mom and sister.

Now, I'm sitting at my desk reading Webtoons while drinking caramel tea. I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Please like and comment - it means a lot to me! And if you have any questions, ask away. Thanks for reading! Future chapters will be more interesting :)
