A/N: Rohirat as Ishan's parents.
Rohit as Baba
Virat as Dad
Rohit and Virat sat in the living room, the soft glow of the evening sun filtering through the curtains. The house was filled with an air of anticipation as they awaited their son Ishan's return from cricket practice. Both parents shared a deep bond, not just as teammates but now as partners in parenting, and they often joked about their shared experiences on and off the field.
"I can't believe how fast he's growing up," Rohit said, glancing at a framed picture of Ishan in his little cricket gear, bat in hand, beaming with pride. "It feels like just yesterday he was learning to walk, and now he's out there playing like a pro."
Virat chuckled, shaking his head. "Yeah, and he's got both of our competitive spirits. I just hope he doesn't feel too much pressure to live up to our names. He needs to enjoy the game."
As the door creaked open, Ishan walked in, his face flushed from the afternoon sun. "Hey, Baba! Dad!" he called out, tossing his bag onto the couch. But the smile quickly faded as he noticed the concerned looks on their faces.
"Everything okay, Ishan?" Virat asked, his tone gentle yet probing.
Ishan hesitated, a shadow passing over his features. "Just... practice was tough today. I feel like I'm not good enough sometimes."
Rohit exchanged a glance with Virat, sensing the weight of their son's words. "Listen, buddy," Rohit began, kneeling down to Ishan's level. "We both know what it's like to face challenges on the field. But remember, it's not just about winning or losing. It's about having fun and growing as a player."
Virat nodded in agreement. "And you're doing amazing things out there. You've got talent, and more importantly, you have heart. Don't let doubt creep in; we believe in you."
Ishan looked up at them, the warmth of their words wrapping around him like a comforting blanket. "Thanks, Baba. Dad. I just want to make you proud."
"You already do," Rohit said, ruffling Ishan's hair playfully. "Now, how about we hit the backyard for some practice? Just the three of us, no pressure."
Ishan's face lit up, the earlier heaviness lifting. "Yeah! That sounds great!"
As they moved outside, the laughter and lighthearted banter filled the air, reminding Ishan that he wasn't alone. With the support of his parents, he knew he could face any challenge that came his way.
