The next two days passed smoothly on Nova Three and there had been no pirate activity and no new little spy guests. Maxwell and his crew were enjoying their time and Maxwell was certainly relishing the slow-paced life of the farming colony.
The days were long, warm, and lovely and if he was being completely honest with himself, Bethany was also a big reason he was liking his time, she had talent for finding ways to be around him and that's if he didn't seek her out first, like at the riverside each morning.
Maxwell woke and decided to explore around the surrounding area of the colony and get out into the wilderness for the day.
He found Bethany at the usual spot by the river bank and grinned.
"Morning your grace," she said, her face lighting up.
"Morning, find any good blue stone?" he asked, and she nodded.
"A few," she replied.
They began walking along the riverbank together, and she gave him one of her little smiles.
"So what are you going to do today, your grace?" she then asked.
"I was thinking of doing a little exploring out around the colony," he said.
"Oh, nice," she said.
"Wanna come? could use a guide," he suggested.
"Me?" she asked.
"Sure, why not?" he said.
"Ok, sounds like fun," she said, excitement on her face.
"Alright, how bout we meet up after breakfast?" he suggested, and she nodded.
Bethany gave him an excited smile and then hurried off. Maxwell returned to the Excalibur and found Ava waiting for him.
"Morning your grace, what's the plan for today?" Ava asked.
He told her of his plan, and she grinned.
"Will you require some company, your grace?" she asked, and Maxwell shook his head.
"No, I have that already covered," he said with a smile, and Ava raised an eyebrow in response.
Maxwell got himself some breakfast, and then once eaten, he made his way down to the cargo bay.
He planned on using his personal hover bike and began preparing it. The bike was sleek and fast and was a personal pride and joy of his.
Maxwell was about ready to go when he saw Bethany walking up, now dressed in a tight tank top, little denim shorts, and hiking boots, ready for a day of adventure.
She was carrying a basket and had a very excited smile on her face.
"I made us some lunch." she said.
"Nice, is your grandfather okay with this?" he asked, and she nodded.
Maxwell wasn't going to question her answer and placed the basket in a compartment on the bike. He handed Bethany a helmet, and she put it on.
Maxwell put his own helmet on, got on the bike, and patted the seat behind him. Bethany hopped up on the bike with him and wrapped her arms around him. Maxwell was very aware of her body and her breasts pressing against his back.
"Your grace, it is protocol for you to have two bodyguards," Ava then said.
Maxwell sighed but nodded.
"Ok, how about this?, task two assault drones on me," he then suggested.
Ava agreed with this suggestion and nodded at Dalton, who picked up a control pad.
