Two sunrises and one sunset passed since I've been in this room. I could hear them laughing upstairs, and not once did they check on me. I haven't ate since the first day I got here. I'm so hungry I don't know what to do with myself.I got the strength to get out of bed to try and look out the window. I was surrounded by nothing but trees, but I could see a gap that looked like a trail. I was eager to trace its route and see where it takes me. Then I heard someone coming, so I quickly got back into bed. The door creaked open, and there Richard stood.
"I brought you food," he said, handing me a plate and some water.
I savored every bite not knowing when the next time I'll be able to eat. He sat on the floor next to the door watching me. I was so famished that it didn't even bother me.
"So, uh, Star is going to be leaving soon to get started at school, but she'll be back. Until then you'll be helping me out around here. We live here now, so we have to make the most of it. You'll be working in the garden, and going to the lake to wash the clothes."
I didn't reply I just sat there wiping bread crumbs off my face.
"Do you understand?" he asked.
I nodded my head slowly, as tears filled the corner of my eyes. I started to realize it was going to be a while before I went home.
He got up and walked over to me. "Here take these," he said, while handing me three pills.
I looked at the pills, then up at him. "What are these?"
"Doesn't matter just do what I say, and I won't have to put the syringe in you."
I sighed, and threw all of them in my mouth. I was gonna fake like I took them, but he checked my mouth after. A couple minutes later I started to feel weak.
"Don't even think about trying to escape, or I'll kill everything you love. Including you," he said, then closed the door behind him.
I laid my head on the pillow and began to cry. I was losing hope at this point. I wasn't sure how I was gonna get away now. Especially since he's drugging me. An hour went by, and I can't really move too much. My body is numb, so I just laid there. The only thing I could feel was tears sliding down my face. The Richard comes back in and observes me.
"You'll be in this state until you learn there's no leaving, so the sooner you learn the better it'll be for you," he said.
"O-okay, why are you doing this to me?" I asked.
"I just realized that I don't want you to be with nobody but me. I messed up in the past I know, but look we're back together. It was meant to be."
I didn't say anything back I just looked away. This man was really crazy, and I hated that I didn't see the signs before we got married.
"Tomorrow, you'll start helping me around the house. You'll fix everything up nice and clean. If you don't finish what I have you to do, then you don't eat dinner. Breakfast will be made by you once I come and get you, and we'll sit and eat together. Then you will start your chores. Understand?"
"Yes," I replied softly.
"Good," he said, as he was about to leave the room.
"Wait!" I shouted, and he stopped.
"What is it?"
"My parents will look for me. You know that right?"
He smirked and nodded his head before shutting the door. The light disappeared, so I was left in the dark. The moon wasn't on this side yet to cast in a little light for me to see. I realized I didn't have my sleeping pills, because I left in my bag. It's no telling where they put them. Hopefully they left them at the house, so the police can see it.
