I was awaken by the sweet smell of pancakes and bacon. I looked around for Oreo, but I guess they already fed him because he was gone. I headed towards the kitchen, and my mom greeted me with a french vanilla latte.

"Awh thanks mom. You know me so well," I said, while embracing her with a hug.

"No problem, dear. Now come sit and eat," she replied, pulling me towards the table.

Dad was already sitting down munching on his breakfast. I couldn't help but giggle at the view.

"Good morning to you too dear," he said, after he finished chewing.

With a heartwarming smile spreading across my face, I wished back. "Good morning," and took a delightful bite of my pancakes.

My mom sat down next to me with her cup of coffee. She took a sip of it and said. "I wish we could spend some more time together before you leave."

"I know right," I replied, with a frown. "When I get back we can spend time together though before y'all go home," I said, reassuring her.

She offered a comforting nod and a sweet kiss on my forehead. Then she stepped out onto the porch, bathing in the warm morning light.

I turned to my dad, concern etched on my face. "How's she doing?"

"She doesn't really like to show it, but I know she's really having a hard time not having you around," a tinge of sadness crept into his tone, weighing down his words.

"I figured that. She even thought about y'all moving here."

Dad took a deep sigh before saying. "I know, she won't stop bringing it up either."

"I feel like... I made a mistake by moving here," I replied, my voice cracking in between as my eyes began to water.

"Why? What's wrong dear," he replied, reaching over the table to grab my hand.

"I-I... nothing. Don't worry. I need to get ready I have to leave soon," I replied, wiping a tear that escaped. I got up from the table and gathered the dishes.

"It's okay I'll handle it go get ready. Just know that we are here for you. You always can talk to us. We've been telling you that since you were little," he replied. He pressed a soft kiss on my forehead then grabbed the dishes out of my hands.

"Thanks," I said softly.

I went into the bathroom to do my hygiene. After I was done doing my hair, I pulled out my phone to text Derrick.

Hannah: Hey babe. I'm almost done getting ready. Where are you?

5 minutes later.

Derrick: Hey, I'm running late. I had a rough night, and ended up passing out. So I had to pack this morning, and now I'm stuck in rush hour traffic. See if you can ride with Star.

Hannah: Ugh... Really? I was hoping you'd get to meet my parents today.☹️ I'll ask her...

Derrick: I know babe I'm sorry. Look I'll meet them when we get back. Just don't worry your pretty head about it right now. I can't wait to see you.

Hannah: Okay fine... I can't wait to see you too.🙂

I closed out our messages to call Star, but of course she didn't answer. It was early, but we all knew that we had to be up at a certain time. I guess I'll just have to go over to her house. I locked my phone, and walked to the front porch with my bags.

I looked over at Star's house, and saw her car in her driveway. Now I can erase the thought of her already being on the road. Even though, she did have two cars. The other one was placed in the garage, but I wasn't gonna panic now.

"You're getting ready to leave dear?" my mom asked, standing in the doorway.

"Uh, yeah," I replied, while nodding my head. "I'm gonna head over to Star's house, so we can go ahead and get on the road."

"Well... I promise your dad I wouldn't cry ha-ha. I can't wait till you get back, but I hope you have a great time dear," she replied, pulling me into a gentle squeeze. She pulled back, and gazed into my eyes. "Please be safe," she pleaded.

"I will," I said softly.

My dad came out to say goodbye leaving a kiss on my forehead. I hugged Oreo tightly and gave him plenty of kisses. Then I hauled my bags over to Star's place. Once I made it to her porch I turned and waved at my parents. They returned the gesture, and headed back inside.

I knocked on her door, and the door creaked opened. "That's weird," I mumbled. I pushed on the door and peaked my head in. "Star!? Um your door is open. Can I come in?" I called out. The house was eerily quiet, which grew an unsettling feeling in my stomach. I picked up my bags, and placed them by the front door closing the door behind me.

"Star! Is everything okay?" I exclaimed.

My head was storming negative thoughts. I really hoped nothing bad happened to her. I tried to keep my mind on her being in a deep sleep, and couldn't hear anything.

I walked towards the hallway that led to her room. A red light glared from under a door. With me being curious I went over to it thinking she could be in there.

When I opened the door nobody was in there. I sighed, and walked deeper into the room. Pictures hung on strings and some sat in liquid. I walked up to one, and took it off the string. It was a picture of the boba and books place with a date on the back. I took off another and...

"What is she doing with a picture of me?" I said, observing the picture. I pulled more down and they were all pictures of me!

"Ahh!" I screamed, placing my hand over my chest in the process. I was startled by a timer going off for the ones in the liquid. Someone was definitely just in here.

I picked up the tongs hanging next to them. As the picture dried I realized it was just more pictures of me. My breathing picked up as I started to panic. I was so confused on why she was spying on me. There was no way she was doing this.

I reached into my pocket to get my phone to call the police. While I was dialing the number someone crept up behind. The sudden creak of the floorboards made me spin around. He pushed me and I stumbled backwards, tripping over a bucket.

"W-who are you?!" I exclaimed, tears streaming down my face. I scooted backwards as he walked towards me.

"L-leave me a-alone! What do you want from me?!" I cried out.

A sinister laugh escaped his lips as he watched me. Then someone from behind me covered my mouth. I tried to scream, but it was only muffled. No one would be able to hear me. I kicked at the guy standing in front of me. He crouched down and used one arm to drag me closer to him. Causing my head to hit the floor. His other hand pulled out a cloth from his pocket.

"Helpp! Someone help me!" I pleaded.

More tears flowed as I tried to call out for help. He placed his finger over my lip and said. "Shhh, no one can hear you. Don't worry you'll be safe." Then he placed the cloth over my mouth, and I squirmed around trying to get away. It was no use, but it was worth a try. I could feel my body start to get weak, as my movement began to slow down. Everything in front of me started to get blurry then it all went black...
