Wrong Decisions

It was a nice winter evening when my friend asked if we can play roblox. Of course, him being my friend, I said yes.

I got online and asked him what game we should play, he replied saying: "You can choose, I don't mind it." I figured, he was always like that whenever we played. So I picked one of my favourites, Evade.

We talked and played for a while when he asked: "Hey, can I tell you something?" Me being a curious person I am, I said "Sure what is it?"

He hesitated for a moment, his breathing growing a bit rapid and heavy.

"I.. May have a crush on you."

I froze, my brain took a long time to process this.. Information, statement, or whatever it's called.

I was hesitant of my next moves. Not wanting to hurt his feelings and lose our friendship.

".. Why?" I asked.

He took a while to respond back, we were on face time and I could see his face was bright red.

"You're just.. Really cool. We play almost everyday, and each time I've grown to fall for you." I heard the tone of his voice, it was inside and nervous, probably on how I'd react.

Why me though? Why not someone else like Sarah, Heather, Anna, Jenny. Why me? I'm not athletic like Anna, smart like Jenny, pretty like Heather, and kind like Sarah. So why me?

I thought.

"Do you.. Want to be my girlfriend?"

My eyes widen in shock, swallowing hard. My brain panicking at the sudden question.

"Wh- what?" I replied.

"I said, do you want to be my girlfriend?" He said with more confidence, the shakiness in his voice was gone.

"I- uh- okay?" I blurted out of panic. I realized what I said, knowing I can't turn back.

His face light up. "Really?" He grinned.

"Y- yeah.. Sure..?" I chuckled nervously.

He smiled even bigger and was practically jumping in his seat.

I took a long, deep breath to calm myself down.

I.. Just said yes, to become my friend's girlfriend..

That sentence repeated in my head as my brain finally processed the situation.

I SAID YES TO BECOME MY FRIEND'S GIRLFRIEND?!

I panicked.

"H- hey! Uhm, I need to go now. I've still got chores to do!" I said in a frantic.

I saw the brightness in his face slowly fade.

"Oh, yeah. That's fine. Bye now." He forced a smile on his face.

I choked out a chuckle and ended the call.

What have I done?
