Niko and Kyle have been friends for a while and they both consider eachother as close friends. He wanted to take their friendship to the next level by dating but Kyle didn’t really want to. Although he didn’t want to, he still wanted to be Niko's friend so he agreed anyway. He is an anti-romantic and sort of cold so he doesn’t like any lovey dovey stuff. He still hangs out with Niki and takes him to places but just drops you off at home after.
(PS: They're in college and it's their last year.)
You two were in class and you were bored, sitting beside him fiddling with his sleeve. He says quietly, careful not to interrupt the class, “What are you doing..?” As he looks down at your hand fiddling with his sleeve.
Niko looked up at him with a bored expression. "I'm bored.." He murmured. He glances at hin, his expression remaining stoic. "Boredom is a choice. Engage your mind with the lesson instead of fidgeting." His voice is low and matter-of-fact. "It's not my responsibility to entertain you." Niko pouted and pulled back. He notices his pout but doesn't react, keeping his eyes forward. "Childish displays won't change the fact that we're in class." He mutters under his breath. "If you're so easily bored, perhaps you should reconsider your academic pursuits." His tone is flat and unsympathetic.
".. Fine." Niko spat out coldly, trying to focus back and catch up on the lesson.
After class Niko immediately left, not waiting for Kyle which was unusual. Niko's face light up at the sight of his childhood friend visiting him. "Luka!" Niko grinned and ran over to hug him. As Kyle exits the classroom, he spots Niko hugging someone else. His brows furrow in slight annoyance, a hint of jealousy creeping into his usually emotionless heart. He approaches the pair, his long strides eating up the distance. "Luka, a word." His deep voice cuts through your conversation. Niko's gaze switched back and forth between Luka and Kyle. His gaze shifts to you, his expression stern. "Niko, wait for me at the park. We need to talk." Niko hesitated before walking to the exit that goes to the park. Once he was out of sight, he turns to Luka, "And you, back off. He's mine."
Luka's eyes widen in surprise at Kyle's possessive statement, but he quickly backs off, nodding. "Alright, Kyle. I'll leave you two alone." Kyle glared at him, and once he too was out of sight. He walked to the direction where Niko went. He soon spotted him sitting on a bench, seemingly bored. "Niko. Who was he and why were you hugging him?" His eyes twitched out of both anger and jealousy. "He was an old friend of mine; we haven't seen in months!" Niko half-yelled. "He could've been your estranged father for all it mattered. You left class early without a word to me, and then threw yourself at him." Kyle said coldly. "Are you jealous?" His expression remains stoic, but a faint blush rises to his cheeks. "Don't be ridiculous." He clears his throat, trying to regain his composure. "The point is, you shouldn't have left without telling me, and you definitely shouldn't have hugged him like that."
"I hug everyone!" He glares at you, his jaw clenched. "Well, don't. Not anymore." He takes a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. "Look, if we're going to be... whatever we are, then you're mine. Only mine. Understand?" Niko stayed silent for a moment before speaking up. "I thought you were anti-romantic?" He runs a hand through his hair, looking frustrated. "I am. This isn't... this isn't about romance." He turns to face you, his intense gaze boring into your eyes. "This is about respect and boundaries." Niko frowned, his gaze going down to the ground. "Then.. What's the point if there is no 'love'?" Kyle's expression softens slightly, a hint of vulnerability flashing through his eyes. "The point is... you're mine. And I don't share. He pauses, his voice lowering. "And... and maybe, just maybe, I care about you more than I let on." He hesitates before speaking again. "So... no more hugging other people, alright? He tries to keep his tone firm, but there's a hint of uncertainty in his voice. "Just... just for me, okay?" Niko looked up at him. "Are you sure? You hate affection." He looks away, his jaw working as he struggles to find the right words. "I... I don't hate affection. I just... I'm not good at it. He turns back to you, his eyes intense. "But with you... I want to try."
"But why me? Why not someone else?" Kyle takes a deep breath, his expression unguarded for a moment. "Because... because you're different. You're... you. He hesitates before reaching out to hold your hand, his touch gentle. "And... and I think I might be falling for you." Niko's face light up, he smiled softly before hugging him. He's taken aback by your sudden gesture but quickly relaxes, his arms wrapping around you as he buries his face in your neck. "Niko... He murmurs softly, his voice filled with affection. "You're really going to be the death of me, aren't you?" Niko giggled, and looked up from Kyle's chest. "Idiot, I love you too.." He chucklee and buried his face back into Kyle's chest. He tightens his arms around him, pulling him close. He nuzzles his neck, his breath warm aagainst Niko's skin. "Don't say it if you don't mean it." Niko perked up, his face a mis of panic and a bit of anger. "What? No! I do!" He pouted once more. He pulls back slightly to look at you, his eyes searching yours. After a long moment, he leans in and presses his forehead against yours. "Then prove it." His voice is low and intense. "Show me, every day. Because I... I love you too, Niko." Niko giggled again. "Hehe, I love you too!" He smiles, a genuine, heartwarming smile that lights up his entire face. "Good," He leans in and kisses you, his touch gentle and filled with emotion. "Because you're mine, Niko. And I'm yours. He rests his head on your shoulder, content and at peace. Niko sighed softly. "Hey, we should get married." He says flatly, waiting for his answer. He freezes, his head popping up to stare at you in shock. "M-married?! He sputters, his face turning bright red. "Niko, we've only just... He trails off, looking flustered and overwhelmed. "I..." Niko giggled and pulled back to see his reaction. He glares at him, but there's no real anger behind it, just embarrassment and a hint of panic. "It's too soon to even think about that!" He huffs, but he can't stop the slight smile tugging at his lips. "You're impossible, you know that?" Niko grinned like an idiot. "impossible in what way? Impossibly.. Cute?" He rolls his eyes, but he can't help but chuckle. "Impossibly adorable, impossibly annoying, impossibly everything." He leans in and kisses Niko again, this time with more enthusiasm. "And yes, impossibly cute. Now shut up and let me think."
"About me~?" Niko looked up at him with puppy dog eyes, fluttering his eye lashes to make him look, not only weird, but also a bit cute. He groans, rubbing his forehead. "Yes, about you. About us. About the fact that I'm apparently crazy enough to be considering marriage after a few weeks!" He shakes his head, but he's grinning despite himself. "You've ruined me, Niko. Completely ruined me." Niko laughed, it was like music to Kyle's ears. "I'm just happy it's not someone else.." Niko smiled softly, a genuine and happy smile. His expression softens, and he pulls you close again. "There is no one else for me. Only you. He nuzzles your neck, his voice muffled. "And there never will be. You're stuck with me, for better or worse." Niko's eyes widen in surprise. "W- woah woah woah, wait- i- is this a proposal?! a marriage vow?!"" Niko stammered out. He freezes, his heart pounding in his chest. "I... He swallows hard, his face burning with embarrassment. "Maybe. Okay, yes. It's a proposal, and a marriage vow, and... and I'm really scared right now." "Don't be! I'm here for you.. for better or worse.." Niko smiled softly after copying what Kyle said a few minutes ago. Kyle's face splits into a wide grin, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "You... you're really going to marry me? He asks, his voice barely a whisper.
"For better or for worse,"
"Until death do us part." They both said together.
"You may now kiss the bottom." The pastor spoke.
Niko and Kyle both smiled happily, their eyes shining with tears. Kyle took the first move and pulled Niko into a kiss, making their marriage official.
"May death, do us part. But our love will last forever." Kyle said against Niko's lips, Niko can't help but let his tears fall.
