24. That's My Girl

Months passed, as usual Navya always watched Shubman play from the stands but for a change Shubman was spotted at an award ceremony where Navya received the Business Woman of the Year - 3rd time in a row.

Shubman was seen clicking her pictures and cheering for her when she received the award.

They wore twinning outfits for the after party.

People couldn't help but treat them as the next Virushka.

During the party Navya and Shubman were joined by a business icon.

"It's an honor to meet you Mr. Gill" he said.

"Likewise" Shubman replied formally.

"Shub this is Rajat" Navya introduced.

"You better know you're a lucky man. Navya doesn't really accept anybody's proposal" he said with a hint of sarcasm.

"Oh..." Shubman began but was immediately cut off as Navya held his hand and spoke "Well  he's definitely special" Rajat's face dropped and he excused himself.

"I'll explain later" she said looking at Shubman's confused face.

The party music changed into a romantic one.

"May I have this dance" Shubman offered his hand.

"I began to think you would never ask" she took his hand.

"Oh I am certainly not a bad date" he acted offended.

"How can the prince be bad at anything" she joked.

They danced to the tunes, not bothered about the fuel they are adding to the rumors or the number of hearts that are being broken because of them slow dancing in twining outfits with the most promising chemistry.

On the ride back Shubman asked Navya about Rajat.

"That dude proposed to me"

Shubman tightened his grip on the steering.

"He did not give up even after I rejected him thrice, well that stopped after our dating rumors" A proud smirk appeared on Shubman's face as she continued to explain. "I guess he was just trying to confirm the rumors".

Shubman began to hate this Rajat guy for no reason. It was as if he had a personal enmity with him.

Shubman posted their pictures from the night on his insta pleasing a whole lot of people. But he 'accidently' added 'that's my girl' bgm to the post and had to repost it after about an hour, when Ishan teased him and Navya yelled at him because of his negligence.

But he was too late. He accidently made a non - existing relationship official.

With that gesture everybody was sure of their relationship except for the two who called themselves JUST FRIENDS.

Shubman was in an interview when the interviewer asked "When was your first crush?"

Shubman - First crush.... I was 13 or 14 may be.

Interviewer - Did you confess? 

Shubman - No, I never knew I had a crush on her.

This small question has created a havoc inside him. He always knew she was his first crush but for the first time he has admitted it out loud.

The comfort, the vibe that she brought with her always made him want her to stay with him. He wants to stay with her, he sat on the bed and felt his heart beat grow faster at her mere thought.

He picked up his phone and dialed Navya.

Navya - Hey.

Shubman - Hi! Kya kar rahi ho.

Navya - So rahi thi.

Shubman immediately looked at the time - 1:30 a.m in Australia. Curse the time difference.

Shubman - Sorry, wo achanak baat karne ka man kiya tho...

Navya - Aisa hi chalta gaya tho tumhe meri aadat ho jayegi.

Shubman - Tho mujhe ye aadat badi acchi lagthi hain.

Navya - tumhare interview se pehle hi tho 2 ghante baath kiya tha, ab achanak in dai ghanto main aisa kya hi naya hogaya.

Shubman - Kal engagement main bataonga, abhi soja. Good night.
(He cut the call without waiting for a reply).

Navya - Ya tho pyar hogaya hain, ya pagal ho gaya hain.

"Pyar ho gaya hain, mujhe pyar hogaya hain" Shubman sang dancing in his room. "I'M IN LOVE" he kept repeating his words now sitting on the bed.

"OH MY GOD, kal kya pehnunga. Navya ko pasand ayega".
