Stu caught up to me and we found Billy leaning against our car. "Hey," he said.

"Hey, what was that all about?" I asked, crossing my arms as I stood in front of him.

He chuckled. "Just messing around with Meek Geek, no big deal."

Stu unlocked the car. "Yeah Re, just making sure your little dorky friend knows who's in charge."

"God Stu, could you be any more of a dick?" I snapped.

"I mean, I could," he laughed. "Now both of you get in. We need to go get some drinks for the party."

Billy smiled at me, opening the back door and waiting for me to get in. I felt my cheeks heat up, smiling at him gratefully as I got into the car. He closed the door and got into the passenger seat just before Stu started driving, going to the liquor store.

I watched him as Stu drove, how he looked out the side window with a slight frown. I wanted to ask what was wrong, to hug him, something, but I knew it'd be better if I didn't, since Stu was around.

Once we got to the store, we walked in, Stu greeting the young guy behind the counter, "Hey George! My man!" he said, high-fiving him.

"Well, if it isn't the Macher twins, what brings you here? Having a curfew party?"

I smiled at him. His mom is friends with ours, so we grew up hanging out while our parents got wasted at their dinner parties. He's a few years older than us, which means he's always been the booze supplier. First, he'd buy it for us. Now, since he works here, we're able to get it, no problem.

"Sure are, Georgie, you wanna come?" I asked, batting my eyelashes at him. We've always had a little flirty banter going on between us, all just for fun.

He smirked, leaning against the other side of the counter, his face close to mine. "Hm, hanging out with a bunch of high schoolers isn't really my idea of a good night. But maybe I'll consider it since you'll be there."

I was about to reply when I felt a presence behind me and turned to see Billy. He glared at George. "Can you just go get our stuff? We have things to do."

I smiled, seeing Billy jealous gave me a burst of confidence. He's never really been around George and me together, so I guess he's not used to our dynamic. George looked at Billy and then at me and shrugged. "Right, yeah, what do you want?"

"I'll go pick it out," Stu said, the two of them walking off, further into the store.

Billy gripped my hips, spinning me around to face him. "What was that?" he asked, his tone harsh, but his eyes showed a vulnerability in them.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You were flirting with him."

"So?" I smirked.

"So, I'm right here." His eyes widened, and he leaned closer.

"Well," I was about to mention how I sat and watched him and Sidney together all day at school but was cut off by Stu and George coming back. I turned back around, watching as George scanned the drinks.

"Alright, who's paying this time?" he asked.

"Rena is, you always give her a discount," Stu said, and I gasped, shaking my head.

"Uhm, no I am not! This was your idea! You're funding it."

He grumbled as George held out his hand, waiting for Stu's money. He handed it over and George winked at me as he put it into the register, pocketing the change for letting us get this underage, and then handed the boys the bags. "Thank you, Georgie," I said.
