ONCE UPON A TIME, god told the animals; "i'll be inviting you all to the banquet i'll be holding tomorrow." but the rat, who was a bit of a prankster, lied to his neighbor the cat. telling him the banquet was the day after tomorrow. the day of the banquet, the rat rode on the ox's back and leapt down graciously at the banquet hall. after him, came the dragon, the ox, and all the others. and they all celebrated merrily until dawn."
a children's story like this, was spreading all across japan. it was a kind of story where parents would tuck in their children into their bed, and read the story out aloud. without them knowing, this story was true. the in-famous 'sohma clan' was a very old, powerful, influential, and wealthy family that values tradition and status were cursed with the zodiac curse.
well, not all sohma's were cursed with the particular curse. only specific members got cursed, and three certain siblings were affected by this.
yuki sohma, cursed by the year of the rat. ayame sohma, cursed by the year of the snake. (name) sohma, cursed by the year of the dragon.
they've been affected by this curse ever since they were born, they learned to deal with anyway. some could handle it better, some could not. (name) felt suffocated ever since she was born. she hated it. she hated everything.
she hated everything. she hated breathing, she hated hearing her heart beat each second, she hated the fact that her eyes were still able to see the world.
she wanted enough of everything. when she was 8 years old, she knew she had enough of everything. she climbed up her bedroom window having enough of everything everything that was happening around her, she couldn't deal akito anymore... she let herself fall onto the ground. blood was gushing out of her head. she thought, if she could end her life right now, all the misery around her would disappear.
"name–san.. why are you such a useless animal? you're the dragon, and yet you fight like useless, utterly useless creature!" akito yelled at (name) who was laying on the ground after akito had hitten her.
akito kneeled down to (name) and whispered the following.. "the rat should've pranked you instead. so you could've been the one who couldn't attend. and you would've been the one who would be chained up!" akito yelled.
"that's enough akito!" a man yelled, pulling akito by the arms. (name) couldn't see very well, everything was blurry around her. akito's words were stuck in her mind. repeating, and repeating, and repeating. "you should've been the one chained up."
her body was soon discovered by a random little boy. the boy started to scream for help until he was able to find her older brother, yuki who was traumatized at the sight of her younger sister. 'why.. why would she do this to herself?' her oldest brother ayame, couldn't care less of what's happening. yet, she was still rushed to the family doctor.
