For a few chaotic moments, all Lily Evans could register was a blur of pink and a high pitched squeal. Her eyes strained sleepily against the brightness and she recognized a long necked girl who happened to be her sister.

"Wake up Lily!" Petunia's voice squeaked, "Mum and Dad said its time for you to go!"

With those words, Lily sprung up, sending her pink clad sister sprawling to the floor. A smile quickly found its way across her face and she hopped out of bed. A feeling of elation shot through her when she realized it was the first day of her 6th year of Hogwarts. Shooing her sister out of the room, she got dressed.

The casual robes of Hogwarts seemed quite unflattering, but somehow, they managed to make everyone magically look good. She left her red hair hanging in loose ringlets down her back and rushed out the door to the kitchen.

"Lils, you look gorgeous!" Lily's mother cooed. "If you keep going on like this, we'll have to fight off the boys with bats!"

Lily rolled her eyes, but let a smile creep into her face. The boys at Hogwarts certainly noticed her, but if they gave one wrong glance, they'd be hexed into tomorrow.

Lily's father was off at work, fulfilling the absolutely thrilling occupation of filing paperwork. Her father was at work quite often these days, but he'd always come home at 5:32 PM promptly, sporting various paper cuts. He had spoken to her the previous night, offering the typical lecture of going back to Hogwarts: be careful, be safe, and bring back some new magic tricks. Though it was certainly not the most important thing about her, Lily was a Muggle born.

After a lengthy goodbye to her mum and sister, Lily apparated to Platform Nine And Three Quarters. She ran her fingers through her messy hair in an attempt to smooth it, but soon she was tackled by a familiar dark haired girl.

"Lily!" The girl squealed.

Lily stumbled back laughing. "'Ello, Alice." She brushed a strand of strawberry hair out of her eyes.

The girls commenced to stroll to the train and claim an empty compartment, chatting on the way. The conversation was that of all best friends, in which Alice would blab about her crush Frank and Lily would offer sarcastic advice.

"If you want to kiss him, just pull him really close, wrap your arms around him, lean in, and scream in his ear violently." Lily suggested.

Alice barely noticed her friend's advice, she was absolutely engrossed in discussing what kind of nail polish Frank would like best. Lily grinned at her, leaning back against the wall.

Absently staring at the translucent glass of the compartment door, Lily jolted slightly when the door pane vibrated. She pulled out her wand, ready to strike, when the door revealed a blur of blonde.

Remus Lupin stood in front of her, arms open wide to receive the hug she gave him.

"Oh, Lily, I haven't seen you in ages!" Remus said brushing a strand of blonde hair back.

"It's only been one summer," she smiled. "Oh, Remmy, aren't you excited for being Head Boy? It'll be so much fun!"

Lily was notified by owl earlier that she was the Head Girl of Gryffindor, and she assumed that Remus must be Head Boy.

Remus' expression faltered.

"Erm... About that-"

He was interrupted by the door swinging open again. Sirius Black waltzed in with a signature wink, which was answered be a Petrifying curse by Lily. She smirked triumphantly until she realized who was missing. Aiming her wand at the door, she shot a hex at the next boy.

"Ah!" A high pitched squeal announced.

"Oh my stars, Pete, are you okay?"

Peter Pettigrew sat sprawled on the floor, bubbles emerging from his ears and nose. He looked confused and shocked, but thankfully, unharmed. Lily quickly reversed the hex and helped him up, drawing him into a hug.

"Hey Pete! How've you been?" She asked.

"Swell." The blonde boy laughed merrily.

Lily was caught up in speaking to Peter, and she forgot the reason she accidentally hexed him anyways.

James Potter slinked into the compartment, unnoticed by Lily. He plopped onto the seat, almost uncomfortably close to her.

She saw him shoot her one of his famous 'Lily Evans Is Here' smirks and lay his head on her shoulder.

Her face boiled with a blush and anger and she pointed her wand at him and shot a Bat Boogey hex.

The messy haired boy leapt up, refraining from yelling in order to preserve his reputation as Official Tough Guy. She burst out laughing, as did the rest of the compartment, and James blushed deeply, scrambling up to his seat.

"So, who is the head boy?" Lily asked curiously. James stood up proudly and smirked. "Yours truly, James Potter."

"WHAT?" Lily shouted, turning heads from compartments on the other side of the train car.

"Well Evans," James said sitting back next to her. "It seems as if it's destiny for us to be together, what do you say?" He smirked, nudging her.

Lily smoothed out her robe and gritted her teeth. "In. Your. Dreams. Potter."
