Warnings: strong language, light descriptions of massacres, brain smashing

Wolf's plan to stop the NAG had backfired. Pump, who had usurped his position as Supreme Overlord, had punished Wolf for coming back and punished his cluster for taking his side. Pump had brought Wolf and his cluster as prisoners to watch the NAG attack the Mons and prove how wrong Wolf was. Except Wolf had been right, and the kill-bots had been released.

That's all Wolf remembered when he opened his eyes, the world blurry. The attack had happened so fast, one minute he had been in a wooden box with only a hole for his head and hands, the next he was sprawled out on the ground, head throbbing and staring up at an angel- no- a Tiger, who's hand was outstretched to him. He could hear the faint sound of lasers shooting as his ears rung.

"Move, soldier." Tiger ordered, hauling Wolf up. Wolf felt another hand on his shoulder, helping him stand. Josh. That's when Wolf saw the massacre in front of him, his entire cluster slain on the ground. That's all Wolf could process, next thing he knew, Josh was shoving him down the hatch into the underground lab. Wolf was shell-shocked. Tiger slammed the hatch shut, the screams of the civilians echoing. The base shuddered. TyAnne and Liv stood waiting, faces pale.

"You made it." Liv said solemnly. Wolf slowly lowered himself into a chair, staring off. Josh rubbed his temples, feeling sick to his stomach. Tiger said nothing.

"I saw them dead. On the ground. Gone." Wolf's voice was raspy.

"There's still...some screaming." Josh said. With one loud explosion that shook the earth, the world above went silent. TyAnne let out a breath and bowed her head in mourning. No one said anything, feeling too horrified.

Wolf let out a strangled wail after a moment. "My cluster! Their blood is on my hands!"

"It's not your fault." Tiger slid into the seat next to Wolf.

"And my arms, and my knees, and my face, and-" he broke down sobbing.

Liv wanted to comfort him, but hesitated. Instead she shakily took a seat, Josh sitting down right next to her, taking her hand and comfortingly rubbing his thumb over her knuckles. Tiger let out a guilty sigh.

"The blood is all on me." She lowered her head shamefully. "I was blinded by self-pity, I didn't see Stu for what he really was. El Diablo."

"I'm glad you came to your senses." Liv said quietly. TyAnne spun on her heel and left the room. Tiger slumped in her seat, covering her face as she took in deep breaths. Wolf was shaking with sobs. Liv and Josh were still holding hands tightly, every now and then one of them squeezing to remind the other that it was okay. TyAnne returned holding a small case.

  "What are those?" Josh murmured.

"PSK's. Personal Suicide Kits." TyAnne said plainly as she pulled out small white cases. Liv sat up straighter as TyAnne slid one to her first. "The war is lost, we're holed up in this bunker, it can't get much lower than this."

Josh opened his as TyAnne slid ones to Tiger and Wolf and kept one for herself. Liv recognized the red dots inside as the ones Hogeveen had used to kill herself.

Wolf sniffled as he pulled his dots out. "Which one goes where?"

  "Doesn't matter." TyAnne answered softly.

"Are we really giving up?" Liv asked, looking frantic.

"Over some invincible killer robots?" Josh looked around at their comrades.

"12 million killer robots." TyAnne placed the dots on her temples.

"I'm not giving up." Liv let go of Josh's hand, standing up and throwing her hands in the air. "That's not going to be the end of my story."
