Maki panted, rolling a giant pumpkin into the Kaminari household. Denki quircked an eyebrow at his twin sister.
"What the heck are you doing?" He asked, very confused and concerned. She wiped some sweat off her forehead as she rolled the pumpkin onto a mat lying down in the living room.
"I'm getting ready for my date!" She exclaimed.
"What does this pumpkin have to do with it?" He asked, "How much did it cost?"
"Todoroki and I are painting the pumpkin. Also, I have no idea how much it costs. Todoroki paid for it." She said, grabbing paintbrushes and paint.
"Is that why you're going on dates with him? So he pays for everything?" The yellow haired boy asked, flopping onto the couch.
"No. I'm offended that you think so little of me. I'm going on dates to show him what being with someone is like." Maki explained, sitting next to her brother.
"Don't do that for him." Denki frowned.
"Why?" She turned to her brother.
"Because you'll be left hurt while he goes off and dates some other girl." Denki crossed his arms.
"I know." She mumbled.
"Then wh-"
"You wouldn't get it!" Maki cut him off. Denki was about to say something when the doorbell rang through the house.
"Get lost. My date is here." Maki walked to the door.
"Don't come crying to me when you get your heartbroken." Denki said, storming off up the stairs.
"I won't." She muttered, opening the door. She gasped, seeing Todoroki with a box of donuts.
"Surprise?"
"Aww! Thank you!" Maki giggled, taking the box out of his hands. She sat it on the kitchen counter as Todoroki shut the front door.
"Did the pumpkin arrive okay?" Todoroki asked. Maki nodded, giving him a thumbs up.
"It's in the living room." Maki said, walking over to the den. Todoroki followed her. They sat across each other with the pumpkin in front of them.
"What do I paint?" The dual tone haired boy asked. Maki shrugged, setting the pain and brushes in between them.
"Halloween stuff." She said, sketching a black cat on her side. He sighed and stared at the orange canvas.
"Can I look up ideas?" He asked. Maki nodded.
"Of course!" She said, scrolling through pinterest on her phone.
"Okay..." He looked up painted pumpkins.
"Hey, Alexa. Play Maki's playlist!" Maki spoke up.
"Playing Maki's playlist." The robot said before playing music. Todoroki nodded his head along to the Frank Sinatra song.
After an hour or two, the two finished their masterpiece. Maki smiled proudly at her artwork. Todoroki felt indifferent about his.
"Ready to turn it?" She asked him. He nodded and helped her rotate the pumpkin. Todoroki's eyes widened at the artwork Maki had painted.
"I like the Sailor Moon touch to it." He said. She snapped her head to him.
"You've watched Sailor Moon?"
"Not on purpose. My sister likes the show and I end up watching it with her." He explained. She giggled.
"That's cute." She muttered, staring at the witch Todoroki attempted to paint.
"Let's put it outside." Todoroki stood up. She nodded and helped him carry it outside.
"Ugh..." She groaned, setting it down on the grass.
"Are you okay?" He asked. She nodded, giving him a thumbs up.
"Yeah, I carried it earlier." She tried to reassure him. He frowned.
"All alone?" He asked. She froze.
"Y-yeah?"
He sighed, "You should've called me."
"It wasn't that far of a walk." She lied. He sighed.
"Just call me next time. Okay?" He ran his fingers through his hair. She nodded, blush rising to her cheeks.
"Okay..." She couldn't help it when he was openly caring for her like that.
