I'm just pretending that the dinner with the Masons never happened cause I don't know how to write in with Sophie included. And for all purposes, I'm making Sophie thirteen so that she's in Harry's year and not five or something years ahead.

Happy reading!

-Harry PoV-

The day was the same as always until Aunt Petunia said that they had adopted a girl and that she was coming this afternoon. Talk about short notice. I expected that they adopted her to keep Dudley company and that they would both start plotting my demise once they got introduced. Luckily, it was only a week before I got to go to Hogwarts for my second year. My internal monologue was interrupted by the doorbell ringing and Aunt Petunia screeching at me to open it. I braced myself as I opened the door, but the last thing I expected was a blonde girl around my age standing awkwardly with her face hidden by her hair.

"Uh... hi? I'm Sophie. They kind of dropped me here and drove off like the area was radioactive. I'm not entirely sure what it was all about." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and I realised that she was quite pretty.

"I'm Harry. You'll know why they drove off soon enough." I gestured for her to come inside and led her over to the living room, where Dudley and Aunt Petunia were waiting. I felt sorry for her as soon as Dudley started to stare at her like a lost puppy. "Sophie, this is Aunt Petunia and Dudley. Dudley is my cousin." Aunt Petunia stood up and wrapped her in a big bear hug that made me feel a little jealous, as I had spent thirteen years here and had never even gotten a handshake.

"It's lovely to have you here, dear. For the time being, you and Harry will share a room, but once he leaves, we can move his stuff to the attic, and you can have that room to yourself. Does that sound ok?" Aunt Petunia said that with a kind of voice she'd never even talked to Dudley with. I never knew she possessed that kind of gentleness. Maybe it was the fact that there was finally another girl in the house. Whatever it was, Sophie caught on and was trying not to let her amusement show on her face as she nodded. Realising that she was going to burst out laughing, I gestured for her to follow me upstairs. We made it to my room before she doubled over laughing while I was standing there, most probably looking very confused cause as soon as Sophie looked at me, she burst out laughing again. I walked over to my bed and sat, waiting for her to calm down. After a few minutes, she stopped laughing and gestured that she wanted to sit down. I moved over, and she started looking at the pictures on my bedside table. When she reached the photo of my parents, she looked over at me, her eyes asking a silent question. I nodded, and she reached out to grab the photo before flipping it over. I was about to ask her what she was doing before she said something that made my blood run cold.

"Harry, in the photo, why are your parents moving?"

Hello, my Readers! Thank you for reading this book! I originally wrote it on Quotev, but it has been giving me some problems, so I transferred it. Sorry that it's so short!
