"Missy?" I ask incredulously.
Why is Missy walking through the door. What is going on. I look back to Hunter, and then back at Missy, only to find that someone else is standing next to her.
"Tony?" I ask again.
"What are you guys doing here?" I ask.
From my reaction, I've caused the room to go completely quiet. You could hear a pin drop.
"Oh shit" I hear from Sam, trying to keep quiet.
"Olivia?" They ask, confused.
"Well?" I ask again.
What the hell is going on?
"Umm....." Tony started, coming up short.
"You see....." Missy then adds, still no proper answer.
"Okay, sit down, after dinner we will have a chat." I hear Hunter say.
"But I wan-" I start, turning towards Hunter, very confused and starting to get angry.
I then realise my mistake, I quickly shut my mouth and nod, looking back down at my food, eating the rest of it quietly.
Hunter clears his throat and motions to keep eating to everyone. Missy and Tony sit down at the table somewhere and start conversing with everyone, as if this is a normal occurrence for them.
After dinner Hunter asks Missy, Tony and myself to come to his office to have a chat. We sit down and say nothing.
"I'm confused, how do you guys know each other?" Hunter asks finally breaking the silence.
"We went to school together, college. Just before Olivia left." Missy explains.
"Right, well this is good, it means you have people you know here Olivia. Why are you upset?" He asks.
"Are they the people you had following me for a month?" I ask.
"I can see why you would think that under these circumstances, but surprisingly no, I had not sent them to follow you. This is just one huge coincidence." He assures me.
I nod, letting out a sigh. Relieved that my friendships weren't built on a lie.
I hop up, still not ready to accept that my friends are involved with this place.
I start to head out of the office when Hunter stops me, asking to chat privately.
"Missy and Tony, could you give Olivia and I a moment alone please." He says.
I turn and sit back down, wondering why he couldn't have said anything before I stood up.
"Olivia, I'm glad to hear you're already reading the paperwork I gave you. Have you signed the contract yet?" He asks after we were alone.
"Yes I did, what is this family about? What kind of work do you do?" I ask, wondering why it wasn't mentioned in the paperwork.
"I am the leader to a mafia family, my family ran it long before I was born and it will continue to run long after I'm gone." He answers.
"So my siblings and I are now owned by the mafia?" I asked.
"Yes, that's true. Does that change anything for you?" He asks.
"I don't know, will we be safe? Is there anyone who would hurt us?" I ask, now suddenly alarmed.
"No, I can keep you safe, there won't be anyone to hurt you. But as a precaution I have set up bodyguards for your siblings and you. My hope is that they will be there to help when needed, but shouldn't be needed. It's just my preventative measures of the risks." He states.
