Death and life are mutually inclusive

"You need to die."

"Gee thanks, really feeling the love here."

"N-No. I didn't mean-
Life and death are two entities that cannot exist without the other. Life was made with magic. And I think the strange nature of your being would let you have what you desire."

"I'm not following."

"You crave magic and freedom and wings in a way unlike anyone else. You feel the light of the sky, the pull of the water, the burning need for fire. I think you were forged by magic, but not enough to manifest in this life. And maybe, in your next life you'll have magic. All our theories prove that soul magic multiplies with every rebirth.
If you're reborn...you can save the world, even."

Lilith saw where this was going. She saw through the lies of Rowan. She knew magic didn't work that way.
She believed she was not special. With that thought in mind, Lilith curled her fingers around Rowan's small blade, and gripped it tight. But as she stared him in the eyes, her mouth twisted into an ugly snarl. "If I go, you're going with me."

And Lilith plunged the blade through his heart, shattering the bond between them, for they were a cursed pair. Rowan's death would trigger Lilith's and even though their gods forsook them, their Creator looked down and recognised Lilith's strength and bravery in facing death as an equal.

Lilith's form could always be seen from then on. Whether it was in the shape of the stars, the swirling of the sea, the flames of fire, the candle on a dark day, Rudolph's red nose or even just the wind that chased away stormclouds, she was always there.
