I take my essentials and get in the car with mom. I don't usually pack fully because i dont see the point in having only one closet of clothes. So we filled up my closet at mom's and my closet at dad's to minimize the hassle. We start driving the hour and a half it takes to my dad's house. He lives just a town over, but his town is big. Hence driving for an hour and a half.
I take aux and play some music we both like. I've got two spotify accounts for this, one when im with mom and one when im not. Don't tell her that, though
We make a stop at my dad's place, and mom pulls into the driveway. My dad is standing, waiting for me at the top of the driveway with a wide smile in greeting.
"Bye, momma!" I say, kissing her on the cheek and getting out of the car, taking my things with me.
"Goodbye, Alora," mom greets. She rolls down the window of the car as i hug dad. Here comes the torturing smalltalk.
"Hello John. How are you doing?" My mother greets him civally. She kinda sounds like a robot. Or a broken record player, saying the same thing exactly the same way every time they see each other.
"Good morning, Monique. Im doing good, " my dad replies."Thanks for asking." He gives her one of his blockbuster smiles. Dad still regrets not doing more for their relationship. He feels bad that he's part of the reason i have two homes. But honestly? It's better this way. I quite enjoy having two lives.
I waved goodbye to my mom after both my parents made some small talk and went inside.
"How are you pumkin?" Dad asks, following behind me.
I reply with a small "i'm good" and walk to the kitchen to pour me a drink. Oh, how I love orange juice. Call me a child. I dont care. I love my OJ.
"So. I was thinking... you could take some of your friends and you could go to the mall. Maybe redecorate your bedroom, " dad asks
"That sounds fun. Sure. I'll ask Mell." I say, taking a sip of my OJ. "Are you working again this weekend?"
Like your average person, dad works weekdays. But for the last few weeks, he's been working weekends, too. Work has been busy. I dont exactly know what dad does. I just know he handles the imports and exports for like, diamonds, i think? It makes sense, though. He gets a shitload of money. So the house is huge. Great for houseparties.
"Yeah, sorry, pumpkin." Dad sighs
"No biggie." I shrug, getting an idea. "Can i have a party this weekend?"
"No problem, pumpkin." Dad is quite laid back. Probably why his and mom's relationship didn't last. So usually when I'm here, he lets me do whatever. "Just make sure nobody dies."
I thank him with a chuckle before going up to my room. My room at dad's and my room at mom's is quite different. At mom, it's light yellow and blue. Where here, it's emerald green and gold. This room is my favourite.
I plop down on my bed before texting Mell. Melanie is my best friend. She lives in the same area as dad, and we always hang out when im here. I dont have many friends at mom's because i dont really get out much there. I don't care, though. Mell is more than enough.
Me: Helloo Bitch. Come over. Im bored
Meleficent: Sure. I was just abt to text you to ask
Me: great minds think alike
I unlock my window and open it for some fresh air. I change out of my sundress into shorts and a long sleeved crop top. My style is also different at mom's. Gotta keep up the good reputation there, you know?
"Whats up, Mr. Anderson" I hear Mell greet my dad after about 5 minutes. Yes. She lives really close by. Like, the next street over.
I stick my head out my door. "I'm up here, Mell!"
I hear footsteps on the stairs before i see my best friend
"Hey girl!" She yells and hugs me. Mell is... an interesting character. She's a real girl's girl. In... more ways than one. She's gay. She is also my favorite person in the whole world, and she is so sweet. To some people. She can also be a real bitch if she wants to be.
"Heyy. How have you been?" I ask. "Any new interesting people?"
"For me or you, Aly?" She falls onto my bed
"Either or."
She sighs. "None for me. There is a new guy in town, though. Haven't heard mych. Sounds like he's a loner type."
"Oh boo." I sigh.
"Apperently, he's hot, though," she reassures.
"Has he got a name?" I ask
"Zaden. Not sure about his last name, though," Mell says. "Apperently Mark knows him."
I sigh, "Of course he does." Mark is my ex. Now, that was a tragic messy brakeup. He cheated. I cried. Hearts were broken. I'm over it now, though. He was a snooze. Obviously, I only realized that AFTER we broke up. People are delusional when they think they're in love. Dont ya think?
I pull up instagram and go into Mark's account before doing a quick stalk to find Zaden
"Zaden Woodbury. 17 years old. Has two sisters. One older and one younger. Son of divorced parents. Mom remarried, but dad didn't. Dad owns a motor company that earns 6 digits a year, it seems."
"Damn girl. You're scary. "
I shrug. "i like my facts. And you were right. Because damn. He is hot. Fuckboy type though. And hasn't posted on instagram since the start of the year. "
"Maybe he got a new account," Mel suggests
I shrug before throwing my phone on the bed, not caring enough to put in more effort.
"Any parties this week? Im planning on hosting one on Saturday, " i ask
"Mm. Jared is. But his parties are a bore."
"None the matter. There is alcahol at his parties. And i'm in the mood for some fun. Maybe a hookup. It was one long week at my mom's." I sigh. "When is it?"
"It's tomorrow," Mel answers
"Then i'm going. You up for it?"
"Sure. Maybe there will be a new girl or something"

A/nChapter 2!!
Sooo... we got a look at Alora at her dad's. Two completely different people, huh? Also. How do we feel about Mell? ( just putting this in parentheses cuz my bestie is kinda slow. Mell is short for Melanie. Not Meleficent. Meleficent is just a nickname) I kinda spontaneously made her gay.
Anywho. Please vote and comment if you want. Thx<3
