The chaos blurred into a distant hum as paramedics rushed in, their voices quick and efficient. Hands pulled Minho away from Jisung, and for a terrifying second, Minho panicked, reaching out again.

"No! I'm staying with him!" Minho shouted, struggling against the paramedics, his heart pounding with fear.

Jisung groaned weakly from the stretcher they had placed him on. "Minho... I'll be fine. Just... don't freak out," he rasped, though the pain in his voice was obvious.

Minho's jaw clenched, but the paramedics were already moving, wheeling Jisung down the hall. Felix tugged at Minho's sleeve. "Come on, we have to go too—before anything else happens."

Minho gave a shaky nod and followed, his pulse still racing. He kept his eyes on Jisung the entire time, terrified that if he looked away even for a second, something else would go wrong.

---

The halls were flooded with police officers and students being escorted out, faces pale with fear, some still crying. The flashing red-and-blue lights outside felt surreal as they stepped into the open air, the cold breeze biting against their skin.

Minho barely registered the officers calling out instructions or the students huddled in blankets. His entire focus was on Jisung as the paramedics loaded him into an ambulance.

"I'm going with him," Minho said firmly when one of the paramedics tried to stop him. His tone left no room for argument.

The paramedic hesitated, then gave a curt nod. "Fine, but stay out of the way. We need to keep him stable."

Minho clambered into the ambulance, taking the seat beside Jisung's stretcher. Jisung gave him a weak smile, though his eyelids drooped with exhaustion.

"You... really don't have to be this dramatic," Jisung whispered, trying to sound playful despite his obvious pain.

Minho huffed, half-laughing, half-sobbing as he gripped Jisung's hand. "You're an idiot if you think I'm leaving you right now."

Jisung squeezed his hand faintly in return, and Minho could feel the tension in his chest begin to loosen—just a little.

---

The ambulance ride felt both endless and too fast. Minho couldn't tear his eyes away from Jisung's pale face, watching every shallow rise and fall of his chest, counting each breath like it was a lifeline.

The paramedics worked efficiently, hooking Jisung up to IVs and monitoring his vitals. One of them glanced at Minho. "He lost a lot of blood, but he's stable for now. You did good keeping him awake back there."

Minho nodded silently, biting his lip to hold back the emotion bubbling to the surface.

---

When they reached the hospital, everything was a blur of bright lights and hurried voices. Jisung was whisked away toward surgery, leaving Minho standing frozen in the chaos of the ER.

"Sir? Are you family?" a nurse asked, glancing between Minho and the paramedics.

Minho hesitated for only a second. "Yes," he answered firmly. "I'm his..." He paused, the word hanging in the air before he finally said, "I'm with him."

The nurse gave him a soft, understanding nod. "Wait here. We'll update you as soon as we can."

Minho collapsed into a chair, his head in his hands, exhaustion finally catching up to him. Every second felt like an eternity as he waited for any news.

Felix arrived not long after, slipping into the seat beside Minho. His hand rested briefly on Minho's shoulder in silent support.

"He's going to be okay," Felix murmured, though he sounded like he was reassuring himself as much as Minho.

Minho closed his eyes and took a deep, shaky breath, the weight of everything finally settling over him. But through the fear, the exhaustion, and the chaos, one thought kept him grounded:

Jisung was alive.

And Minho would do anything to keep it that way.
