"For the last time, I'm not getting a boyfriend, girlfriend or an Enbyfriend."
My mom had been pleading with me to get a boyfriend, saying that it's her 'dying wish' to see Me get married before, well before she dies.
"How could you not fulfill your mothers last wish, I am hurt." She put a hand on her forehead in a dramatic gesture. "Agreed." My annoying brother was sitting on my couch with his feet on my coffee table.
"Mel! Get your feet off of my table you uncultured bull."
"Melchior Izaak Canmore, show some respect for your sister will you?"
Me and his girlfriend, Stacy, spoke at the same time. I could see my brother tense up when she used his full name.
"Girls, don't be so mean to him." My mother spoke, but he relentlessly put his feet down from my coffee table. He had always been our mothers favorite child. Mostly because he didn't resemble him.
"Why didn't you go back to save-"
"Nina don't"
My brother cut me off with a warning glare.
"C'mon! Aren't you curious about what happened to him?" I wanted to find out what happened to Andrew, I'm positive that he's still alive. This Time, instead of him Stacy answered.
"Nina, it's a cold case. No one heard from him for years."
Instead of arguing back I just stayed silent, knowing that it was a waste of time arguing with Stacy.
"Besides, we have more important things to worry about." My brother continued for Stac. "Zydrunas murdered yet another person. Within twenty-four hours he managed to kill 3 people."
"Who was it this time?" I had noticed a pattern within his killing sprees but I didn't tell Melchior yet.
"You know that I'm not obligated to tell you." He answered.
"yes but I would know it sooner or later." I looked at Stacy who nodded. "Honey, tell her. You know her, she will get the answers out of you one way or another" My mother spoke, not looking up from reading one of my published books.
She was right of course, one time I stole his phone and unlocked it because I wanted to know who he was texting to.
That's how I found out he had a girlfriend.
From the looks of it, he knew that our Mom was right. So after what felt like forever he said.
"Felix Morrison."
