My phone rings for the hundredth time in the past ten minutes ,and I'm very tempted to smash it across the room.

I'm not a morning person, I become grumpy as shit in the morning until I have a cup of coffee .

I search for my phone with my hand under my pillow then swipe without even checking the number. "What?!"

"Is that a way to greet your best friend Ely?" My best friend says from the other side.

"Julian..you know I'm not exactly nice in the morning " I say groaning. He let's out a loud ass laugh almost turning me deaf. "What couldn't wait that you had to call me at 6 am in the morning?"

"Bitch don't blame me , you the one who decided not to call me and inform me how you landed " he says with attitude.

I sit up and rub my eyes "okay .valid ."

"Exactly. Now tell me how you feel after seeing your family after so long".

I breathe for a moment and say "I mean it wasn't that bad. Elon and Maya took me shopping yesterday and I haven't seen Gab ,Cole and pops" I play with the strings on my pajama pant.

"Wow..so your father and your brothers couldn't even make time to welcome you back home".

I sigh and plop back on my bed "Mom said they are  busy negotiating with the other family..and also I'm not that eager to see them ,except for cole of course " I say smiling because I missed cole so much , we grew up doing everything together not to mention how supportive he was when I came out to my family.

"Of course we love Cole, he's a sweetheart " he says sweetly and and ends with "unlike your bigoted ,rude older brother ugh"

I laugh at him .you'd swear they've met each other with how much Julie hates Gab, but then again Julie has always been team me when it comes to people having issues with my sexuality .

"Anyway you said you went shopping yesterday..what the tea?" He says excitedly. I snot and say "Well...we're meeting my sister's inlaws tomorrow. Nothing major "

"What do you mean nothing major. There's probably gonna be some eye candy ...I hope you picked something sexy ,you might be lucky and catch an eye of a sexy stranger "

I smile and shake my head "Julie, hooks up are the last this on my mind right now"

"Come on Ely. You haven't dated anyone since Rowan" he says and I'm irritated all of sudden. Julian knows very well I don't like talking about Rowan , he's a bad memory.

I roll on the other side of the bad "Julie stop" I groan on my pillow.

"Ok .ok. but you need to move on Babes ,it's not good to be stuck in the past" I lay on my back and stare at the ceiling.

"I know Julie and I'm trying " I say chewing my cheek from the inside.

He sigh "Ok. Just have fun sweetie and get to know new people " I can hear her sad smile from the phone. "Yes mom " I say and laugh. I swear it's like I have three moms .

"Shut up" she laughs and says "Ok . I have to go now..talk to you tomorrow and I need all the deets from the party"

"Of course you do" I smile.  "Bye El ..luv you and take care of yourself "

"You too. Bye" I end the call and get up to get ready for the day.
